Ok, this is sort of based on the movie "West Side Story". For those unfamiliar with it there is a part where Tony and Maria first see each other and its like the world stops for a brief moment in time as they hold each others gaze.
Well I kinda imagined myself walking down a crowded street when my maria happens to walk past, and as we lock eyes for a second or two, we see the rest of our lives together in love in that glance. And then ofcourse the world starts spinning again and we never even meet before she's gone. Yeh its corny, but its what came out so here it is anyway...short and simple.
A Moment In Time
That look in your eyes conveys so much,
Almost reaching out to touch.
Time kindly pauses for us there,
The wind blows gently through your hair.
Passers by become a blur,
Emotions inside begin to stir.
Then cruelly time speeds me away from you,
And people walking block my view.
In a trance the moment passed,
Please tell me how to make this last.
The love we shared is lost too soon,
The nights we gazed up at the moon.
All this and more in a single glance,
That day we passed on the street by chance.
peace.
