It's been a long time since I posted a poem, but, I guess since it's my birthday and I'm in the mood, I'll drop somethin'.

And also, I've already commented on 3 other poems, it was a few months ago

Inspired by my teachers, my family and komradz and Pac to keep livin'

All I ever wanted to be was a souljah, a souljah
A shoulder for my youth to lay their head when they get colda
I've been in your position, young homie, so I understand
The struggle to fulfill the essence of a true man
Everywhere I turn, everywhere I go, 360 degrees
I got demonz in my face, makin' it hard to breathe
Tryna keep me from my destiny, exposed to be warrior
Strapped with knowledge and gatz to end the war on lost blacks
I'm just a single being walkin' with my head down
Why? Cuz my life story left my family with no ground
But still I strive soar, ease my stress and maybe smile
Shit I'm 20 now. And still ain't seen my pops in a long while
But let me emphasize on my intellect
Readin' books. Observing my surroundings, maintain respect
I'm a souljah til my mothafuckin casket drops
Ask my peerz after yearz of listening to Huey Newton and Pac
So my people, or anybody strugglin', I'm by your side
Stressin', fightin' everynight. Plottin' how to make it right
Despondent emotionz turned to overwhelmed glee
Since a souljah was all I ever wanted to be
