and before you ask, the theme thing.. while classic westcoast beats usually stand out with hard but simple drums, whiney synths and pipes, and all that shit, i'm talking about rough productions. shit that sound like it was made in a basement studio. chopped samples, vinyl samples, whatever. wu-tang-ish shit or stuff of that flavor. doesn't have to be hard or whatever, the mood you want for your beat is up to you. just make it sound dirrrrtey!!
