Now i'm sure that we are all aware of the recent explosion of acapellas leaking to the streetz and the internet. Now personally, i am a BIG fan of good professional and fan-made remixes. I think the mixers do an excellent job, tho there are many that are horrible, which iz 2 be expected.
My question iz, do you think it iz rite that 2Pac's vocals get released to the public to be remixed over and over again, without Mr. Shakur's permission? I mean this is his voice we are dealing with. Iz it even rite that they are released to professional DJ's by his mother's establishment? Isn't 2Pac the only one that should give the say so on wether or not they should be released. I dont think he would do so if he waz alive cuz he knowz how he wanted his music 2 sound. Iz it a blessing for us fans 2 have these vocals? or is it a Disgrace to Tupac Shakur?
My Opinion: Tupac wanted his music 2 carry on after he died, he said himself that most of his songs were only skeletons of projects 2 come. I believe by stating that, he waz predicting hiz own future without knowing it.
I believe that since 2pac did want hiz music 2 carry on, then he also wanted it 2 sound good. Now we know some of the professional mixez of hiz songs on posthumous albumz are not that great, so that iz where a fan-made remix would sound better. There are many fan-made remixes that are better than album mixes. I think the fan-remixers have az much rite 2 remix them az professional producers do. Why would it be wrong? becuz the fanz do not have Afeni's permission? Well they are not Afeni's vocals, they are 2Pac's. 2Pac never said who he wanted 2 remix hiz acapellaz, remember that. So i think it is a BLESSING that we can all share our favorite rappers voice, and produce great mixes the way he would want them. But i also think it iz a DISGRACE if the vocalz are used IMPROPERLY, such az making 2Pac say thingz he never said.
Peace
