So I won't go into great detail because I don't know it all, but there's been a lot of extensive work done in the community to get a MUCH clearer picture of how different versions of tracks relate to one another. Like a timeline for every version and rip of all his songs. People have been cross-referencing personal notes of 2Pac's from various notebooks with official information, copyright information, basically it's the 2Pac scene's theory of relativity being ironed out There's too much information to even try to summarize anything of it because the discussions get so deep and intricate. This has been happening across both 2pac-forum.com and bomb1st.com (which are the two big ones left). Two people that are spearheading this is a guy called filla and a guy called steez. They've moved past just knowing stuff, it's like they have an instinct for this shit.
So based on this work, we now know that Tupac had several albums that were scrapped. Everyone knew he was working on an Outlawz album, and most people have heard the story about how the whole Thug Life album had to be changed, and 2Pac himself talked about an album he was working on towards the end that was gonna be "like a Me Against The World Part 2", and we know about One Nation. So some things we've known since forever. It's been known for quite some time that Tupac at some point had conceptualized an album he wanted to name "Troublesome". What wasn't known, is that the album was completed (along with many other albums, among them one called "Stay True" and one called "Mr. Middle Finger" - but there's even more than those that were finalized or near-finalized, and even more than those that were conceptualized. It's almost like he came up with album concepts every other month. There are people out there - collectors - who even possess these things. Dante has been dwarved by several orders of magnitude by the current big kahuna(s).
Official promo cassette tapes with official logos and everything was made for the Troublesome album, even a press kit. The "Don't Call Me Bitch" T-shirt Pac wore in some photos was promotional stuff for the Troublesome album (which as you can see from the link below included a version of that track which is said to be mixed differently than the leaked version we have, which gives the song a different groove. The mixes on the album were finished, completed mixes. We're talking a finalized album with everything the way Pac wanted it. It's not just a compilation of unreleased songs, there are written tracklists and notes of Pac's where you can see the concept of the album taking shape over time.. There are no unheard songs on the tape, but all the songs are alternate versions to what we've heard before. The differences vary from ever so slightly to major vs what we've heard before.
So a copy of this official promo cassette is currently being auctioned off. The starting bid is $3000, there's a 25% buyers premium that gets added, so we're looking at probably 4000-4500 to secure the tape. Unless someone outbids us. We've already raised a lot of that money. A person has been elected (on the basis of being the top contributor - he's in with $1000) that will recieve all the funds and then purchase the tape. No insurance, you're exactly right, he could steal everybody's money and just fuck off if he wanted to. He won't though, he'll buy the tape, recieve it, have it professionally ripped, and then gets to keep the tape - the entire internet gets to enjoy the professional rips.
We need more pledgers. It just occurred to me to mention it here. If people can shoot in $50 it helps. We have a discord that you need to join just until this is over. We're something like 10-20 total people so far. Here's a chance to be a part of 2pac scene history. I'm pledging just $200 but the top pledger is going in for a $1000.
Here is the tape being aucitoned:
