I dont know if any of you have ever seen his stand up or seen him on any celebrity roasts but this guy was fuckin hilarious. He's one of the only reasons i even watched any of the celebrity roasts. Apparently he OD'd on prescription pills a few days ago and finally passed away today. Pretty fucked up. R.I.P.

Comedian Greg Giraldo died today at the age of 44 -- five days after he was hospitalized for an overdose.

Greg had been hospitalized in New Brunswick, NJ after he overdosed on prescription pills last weekend. A source said the overdose was not a suicide attempt.

Giraldo was best known for his celebrity roast appearances. He had also been a judge on "Last Comic Standing."

A source close to Greg tells us, "Greg passed away today at the hospital in New Brunswick as a result of an accidental overdose. His family was by his side."

We're told plans are being made for a public memorial service.

How many comedians are we going to lose to ODing?

I read something interesting the other day and it was "how come when someone dies from an overdose, we never say 'hey, at least he died doing something he loved?'"

I guess he won't win Last Comic Standing.

No? Nothing?

Someone had to say it.

Either way, I'm actually really sad to hear this, he was funny as hell. RIP

I heard he was on life support in a coma for 5 days and the family decided to pull the plug. I hate shit like that.

What do you hate about it? Just curious, no shots. If I were a vegetable, I'd have no problem with my family pulling the plug.

Just in case i suppose. You hear stories of people coming out of 20 year comas and shit. I guess being a veggie would be different, you're pretty much dead as it is. But if I were in a coma I'd want to stay alive

Pretty much what ARon said. There's a difference between being in a coma and being a vegetable.

I read this one story where someone was in a coma for like a 15 years, except that his brain was conscious and he could hear and understand the people talking around him, but he couldn't move, he couldn't talk, and he literally couldn't do anything and would hear his family discussing whether they should pull the plug and stuff. He eventually somehow made a full recovery, after all that time. You just never know.
