And she is one of the most beautiful and honest people I have met.
She was here with a new artist she is representing, aKorean-American rapper/singer/guitarist, a young lady by the name of SKIM - who incidentally is a very talented artist.
I asked Leila a few questions, of this they will cut out some soundbytes for when they air my documentary again at the end of the month. I asked her about Amaru and Dina, and she got very emotional at this point and admitted to me she used to regularly cry about it when she thought about how certain people at Amaru are trying to write some people out of the legacy to a degree, including her and Shock G. Leila has a lot of love for Afeni though, but she has been very hurt by Dina in the past.
I don't think that part will make it into the documentary which is why I shared some of it here. She also let me into an interesting fact - many of Tupac's poems from "The Rose.." were written in Leila's living room, where Tupac, Leila, and 3 or 4 other people would all write a poem on the same topic - so Leila and others have poems on the same topics, and theirs as well as 'Pac's would all be inspired by the discussion they would be having about the topic whilst writing.
Anyway, I may share some more info tomorrow but right now I'm tired and I'm going to sleep. Oh, and SKIM took some photos of me and Leila that I will try and get off her soon.
