of Stephen Fry (Black Adder, Fry and Laurie, etc.) and quite possibly the biggest college football game of the year involving the fiercest rivalry in all of sports.

Fry doesn't really go in to too much depth about the history of the Iron Bowl, but fuck if he doesn't capture just a fraction of the excitement that doesn't involve any violence associated with this event.

Friday at 1:30 on CBS, for those of you that care. Even if we lose, it's just an amazing thing to be a part of and witness.

I never understood the great interest in college football and college basketball, but it seems like the fans are more rabid than those of professional NFL and NBA teams... which is cool, cause it's straight up my alley. lol

The belief is that the players have the hunger for making it into the NFL. Once they get to the NFL, they turn into whiny bitches like Randy Moss and TO. Also, teams don't really make trades and there is no legal way to pay players, coaches, etc. There have been scandals, most notably the recent one involving our Heisman-caliber QB Cam Newton, but nothing has stuck so far and it seems to based on a lot of misinformation and perhaps his father going behind his back for money, not the player himself.

The crowd is a lot more fun to be around than the NFL group. We're decent at basketball, but certainly not as well-known for it as we are in football. Charles Barkley went here.

I don't like college sports cus I watch sports for the sport not the school. If professional teams had fans like that it'd be cool but in the US not so much. Professional soccer has fans like that of course. But yeah, I ain't about to go all crazy over amateurs and I'm not connected to a school like that so whatever

Those are Duke fans. Duke and the University of North Carolina are a few miles apart (vs. the two-hour drive from Tuscaloosa to Auburn). They are just down the street from each other and their rivalry in basketball is also ridiculously fierce. AmerikazMost went to UNC and I know a few that go to Duke. They are both really good teams, constantly ranked as well.

JJ Redick is in the NBA now, but was a badass while at Duke.

Congrats. I was watching a little bit while I was getting my nails done...thought for sure you were gonna lose
Down 24 against the defending National Champions, you weren't alone. Largest comeback against the best program in the country ever.

Hope we go all the way with this. It's been too long.

Excited for LeBron's return? Gonna shower him with your gringa kisses?
