This has bugged me for some time, time to do something about it.

Verse 2, Tupac supposedly says "I'm convinced that I'm a thug ..."

I highly doubt this is what he says, it does not sound like he says 'i'm convinced ...' this is incorrect. Anyone got the correct lyrics?

he said something strange there, the word gots cut in the middle and some effects are added so it's hard to tell what does he actually says. It doesn't sound like "convinced" but I have no ideas what could it be instead and "convinced" kind of fits.

well it's definitely convinced, it just sounds weird cuz of the way Pac layered his vocals. "I'm so convinced that I'm a thug/They got me fiendin' for my cash like a fiend when he dreams of drugs"

It doesn't sound right to me. Tupac has talked about being a thug for the longest time, he doesn't need to take a step back and talking about convincing himself that he is a thug. It sounds to me like he is saying something along the lines of "I'm so vicious that I'm a thug" - but it is an awkward line and is not all that clear. It sounds to me like 2Pac over emphasised the word 'vicious' in layering his vocals, and that is why it sounds a little off. He does not say 'convinced'.

He's not taking any steps back and trying to convince himself that he's a thug. He says he is "convinced" that he's "a thug."

How can you think he is saying 'convinced' ... really ... ? It sounds nothing like it. For starters, whatever he is saying after 'I'm ...' starts with an 'S' sound, it sounds like 'I'm so ...' and there is not enough syllables for 'convinced' afterwards

It sounds like you want it to not sound like "convinced" when its clear as day that he says "convinced". This is gonna be "Ambitionz Az a Writer" all over again

It's I'm so convinced.

It overlaps slightly.

there aren't enough syllables, you're right about that. on the top layer he says: "On my knees to God, beggin' for repentance/I'm convinced..." but in the layer directly under that you can clearly hear him say "I'm so convinced." that's where the s sound you hear comes from.

yeah whats so hard about him saying "im so convinced that i'm a thug, they got me feinin for my cash like a fiend when he dreams of drugs"

its not that hard to understand. sure pac was convinced that he was a thug, obviously. pac was many things. this line is fitting and there isn't really any reason for observation into this. are you dissapointed that he said the word convinced? on many occasions he has presented himself as a thug, and this line doesn't even make him out to be contradicting, even though he is on many occasions. he was a man of many hats.

If it is the way he says it. It would sound "I'm so con-vis-cinced that I'm a thug", but that is not what he says. It doesn't sound right. I will find out one way or another.

2 things: the first is layering. LAYERING. Pac always doubled and tripled his verses, sometimes he says something slightly different on one of the takes, you can hear it on plenty of his songs. second, Pac even said this himself, he was drunk and high when he was in the studio. he slurs his words on a lot of his songs, especially the Death Row tracks, so sometimes the words don't really sound right. seriously tho, if you don't think it sounds like he's saying convinced, you need to get your ears checked, since you seem to be the only one who can't hear it.
