Ok, I know there were many people saying that and there are many threads like this but I have to write my yesterday's thoughts.
Above all those random "rip Tupac" out of nowhere when people say that just because it fits or because that's what they should say I thought about it seriously.
I'm a 2pac fan for years and years now, there are times when I don't feel like listening to him, sometimes I even bump all that other hip-hop for weeks without bumbin much 2pac, only playing few tracks without really paying much attention to them.
There are also times when I lay on my bad, put my earphones on and listen to tracks like "Krazy", "Never had a friend like me", "They don't give a fuck about us" or even "Street fame" and that's when I truely feel how strong his music is.
He was a genius, literally.
That's where I also though like "Damn, It's really a shame that he left us, R.I.P. Pac"
I know it's not a special conclusion after 10000000 other people on message board posted that but I also came to another conclusion.
I remember when I started to listen to Pac, even after a year or 2 I was fascinated, it was so totally cool and great to me,
I also talked about Pac all the time, I was totally into him,
I kept saying "RIP Pac" "Shame that you're gone" etc. but to be honest I didn't really think about it that much.
I didn't know hip-hop music and didn't know how different and special 2pac actually was.
Now after listening to hip-hop everyday for good 10 years, after having non-2pac-related favorite rappers and after milions of songs I listened to I can honestly say that 2pac = another genre. Whenever there are rappers chasing one another who's got better flow, who is more gangsta, who's got fatter beat - funny thing is that Pac wouldn't be on top in any of those aspects. So what is the key to success? I don't know how he menaged to do it without really good in any aspect that makes rappers good,
but you just bump his track and you know that it's special.
That's also why he's a genius to me.
Even without considering all the "mystery" propaganda
his life was strange, not to say creepy at times.
But the whole point of this thread is to make you just sit and think deeply, from another direction about 2pac and his life.
Just listen to one of his deeper songs and think, focus on how much his songs differ from anything else.
I never had an artist that I listened to for so many years without getting permanently bored.
Years after that 2pac fascination ended I still can honestly say that he's a music genius not only in his genre - in my opinion he doesn't really fit in what we call hip-hop these days. He's a music genius overall.
He wanted to be remembered, did everything to achieve that and he made it. People still listening and "worshipping" him are living proofs that even the strongest possible destroyer of his legacy - "Amaru" can't "Keep his legacy alive" their way and he's still remember as he should - a genius from the days of 2pacalypse, Makaveli or all those og's.
While Elvis or Beatles are so popular amongs older people I'm sure same will be with 2pac in the future.
Even tho he wasn't as popular there's much more mystery about his life. Whenever people learn about him, starting from the "2pac is alive!!" era, to "wow it's Biggie who shot him" then "it was Orlando" ending at "stfu noobs, he's dead"
his story is interesting.
So again, the point of this thread is to make you think seriosly - instead of just randomly posting how sad you are about his death, before all those "r.i.p."s just think about it and come to that conclusion yourself, honestly, it doesn't matter on what level of 2pac you are, just think deeply about the guy before you say what everybody else does.
Whenever someone pours out some liquor for Pac tell him to do the same.
