Is a documentary based on a famous (and very good) football player that gave up MILLIONS (8.6 million) and disappeared, always seen smoking weed.

He gave up a good portion of his career, but is back in the NFL now as a Miami Dolphin. Just not earning top pay no more and no longer a starter.

I'm not saying watch the whole documentary (I haven't even seen it yet), but he gives small insight on this...

(I didn't put this in sports or movies because I want your opinion on this).

My question is: What do you think about people that give up their career or put it on hold for year(s) trying to clear their mind and do other things?

You can talk about daily people, artists...etc.. or specifically, Ricky Williams.

Here is a few comments from you tube on Ricky:

....he didnt SELL OUT like todays athletes. was he going out every night making it rain in clubs? no. he's trying to be a better HUMAN BEING and not an athlete. did he ever say he was trying to be a philosopher? no. he's just trying to find himself
I hate how they try to make him out to be some misunderstood intellectual or enlightened philosopher, when the reality is that he's just another stupid athlete

I actually watched this documentary and I have to say that it's one of the most interesting documentaries I've ever seen. I expected Ricky to be a completely ignorant sounding burn out. I was completely wrong. He is extremely articulate and muses on things that I thought would be completely over his head. This documentary makes him seem like a really layered person and, at least to me, one of the most interesting people I've ever seen.

If I had enough money that would allow me to afford my needs which are not very high for a certain amount of time I would definitely take a break. Actually that's what I'd love about life.
I mean I really need to work a bit to be happy as there needs to be some kind of balance that would allow me to really enjoy my free time and feel that I've achieved that.
I just can't picture myself getting caught up in that "make more and more money" scheme. I value my time and pleasure in life over everything except of survival in good living conditions.
So after reaching a point where I could cover that need I'd literally spend as much time as possible enjoying life and free time for myself.

I mean what do I need a million for if I have to work harder and have less time for myself making it; That is considering I already earn enough money to have everything I really need.
Chances are that a different perspective would change my mind but I doubt it.

Personally during my business classes listening about people who have hundreds of companies and spend most of their time managing them just to earn more and more I thought that they don't respect their lives.
Unless they love work more than anything else.
