Soldier Like Me (Production)

#1
Who produced the original Soldier Like Me, and what is the original title exactly?

I'm almost certain that Assassin claimed to have produced it, and that he said the original title is Judgment Day.

Anyway, the booklet says "Written by Tupac Shakur, Marshall Mathers, and Luis Resto." Also "Produced by Eminem," "Additional Production by Luis Resto." Obviously Marshall and Resto are credited for the remix. But it goes on to say "Original Track Produced by; 2Pac." There is no mention of Assassin in the booket to my knowledge.

Furthermore, ASCAP.com credits "MATHERS MARSHALL B III," "RESTO LUIS EDGARDO," "SHAKUR TUPAC AMARU," and "WALKER RANDY" (Stretch) as the writers. Again, Mathers and Resto are part of the remix, but Tupac and Stretch would be part of the original. I assume Randy Walker as a writer means he was part of the production, not lyrics, but I could be wrong. Again, no mention of Assassin.

Also, ASCAP.com says a variation of the track is "RETURN OF THE SOULJA," not Judgment Day.

Is Assassin lying? So far it's his word against the booklet and ascap.

Maybe I'm not getting my facts straight, but that's why I'm posting.

judgment day and soldier are two completely different songs that eminem combined into one. both songs feature short verses from pac and were produced by stretch.

Interesting info. Thank you.

So what did Assassin have to do with either of them? Was he a co-producer on either? And which Pac verse belongs to which song, if you are at liberty to say?

Never mind the "which verse belongs to which song," that's a stupid question. The answer is in the end of the verses.
there was also some line swapping too

He co-produced "Judgement Day" I believe.

Do you know which lines exactly? I know he did some word swapping in "Who Do You Love" but it seems like he did a little more in this song.
i'm not going to get into who produced it because we've done that before and it didn't end well. use your ears and you will have your answer.

the line swapping is from both songs. by and large the verses from soldier and judgment are intact, but two or three lines are swapped between the two songs.
