I'm going to post a Tupac timeline to the best of my ability. Since Tupac had a complex family environment, not to mention a variety of different homes in different places, this is going to be difficult. I admit in advance that some of this is inevitably going to be wrong. Please edit and change the facts as needed.
June 16, 1971 - Tupac Shakur born as Lesane Parish Crooks to Afeni Shakur (Alice Faye Williams) in NYC. Afeni would later change his name to Tupac Shakur, meaning: Shining serpent, thankful to God. There have been posts about the borough in the past and it seems that the majority of people agree that he was probably born in Brooklyn. His birth father was Billy Garland, however, until sometime after leaving Clinton County Correctional Facility, he thought his birth father was Kenneth Saunders aka Legs, a street hustler who lived with him and his mother for a short time.
A few years later? Not sure what date. Seikywa is born to Afeni Shakur and Mutulu Shakur. Tupac would later look to Mutulu as his most prominent "father figure."
Tupac and his mother move from place to place in NYC, immersed in poverty, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson would remark in "Before I Wake" that they moved around about 20 times during this time period.
1984 (Winter) Tupac, now 13 years old, moves with his mother to Baltimore where he enrolls in the prestigious Baltimore School of Arts. Tupac gets his first major acting role playing the part of Travis in "Raisin in the Sun." Here he meets and becomes very close friends with Jada Pinkett and also meets Darrin Bastfield who would later reflect on his times with Shakur in his book, "Back in the Day: My Life and Times with Tupac Shakur."
1988 Tupac, his mother having succumbed to drugs, moves out to Marin City to live with a family friend. He soon runs into Leila Steinberg who takes him in.
1989? Tupac becomes a roadie for Digital Underground. He soon lands a spot on the single, "Same Song" and his rapping career takes off.
1991 - 2Pacalypse Now is released. The day that his single debuts on MTV he gets assaulted by two police officers for Jaywalking and for insisting that his name is Tupac Shakur. Lands the role of Bishop in the film, "Juice," which launches his acting career. Dan Quayle alleges that Tupac's music has "no place in our society."
1992? A trooper is shot and killed by an adolescent who insists that Tupac's song, "Soulja's Story" motivated him to kill.
1993 Strictly 4 My Niggaz is released. Tupac lands a second movie role playing "Lucky" in the film, "Poetic Justice" with Janet Jackson. Tupac runs into more legal trouble...i forget what exactly (there are so many) and he is dropped from an upcoming film by the Hugh brothers. Tupac runs into them and assaults them and is later sentenced to 15 days in jail. He intervenes in a situation where two off duty cops are harrassing a black man and shoots them both (in non-fatal areas) and the case is dismissed due to lack of evidence.
1994 Tupac records an album called "Thug Life" with a group by the same name. He endorses the term Thug Life and uses it as an acronym to mean "The Hate U Gave Little Infants Fucks Everybody." He brandishes Thug Life as a means to uplift ghetto youth and oppressed Black America. He stars in Above the Rim? Tupac is later accused of raping a young woman in a New York club. The day before the verdict is rendered, he is robbed of thousands of dollars in jewelery and shot five times. Against doctor's orders, he checks himself out of the hospital and is present in the courtroom when he is deemed guilty of sexual abuse but cleared of more serious charges of sodomy and rape. Tupac maintains his innocence throughout the ordeal. He is sent to Rikers Island and later moved up to Clinton Correctional and serves a total of eleven months in prison. Me Against the World comes out in March and tops the charts. He reads a variety of renowned books including Nicolli Machiavelli's "THe Prince" and a book by Sun Tzu (the title escapes me). He marries Keisha Morris while incarcerated and their marriage is later annulled.
1995 (October) Tupac is bailed out by Death Row executive Marion "Suge" Knight in exchange for a three album deal with Death Row Records.
1996 All Eyez On Me is released. It is the first ever double album released by a rapper and hurls him into superstardom. Tupac takes on a variety of projects including roles in Gridlock'd and Gang Related. He buys his mother a house and leashes a verbal assault on those he believed were responsible for the shooting in the violent track entitled "Hit Em Up." This track coupled with the growing feud between Death Row and Bad Boy Records ignites a very public East Coast/West Coast feud. Tupac informs the media that his beef is not with the East Coast but only Bad Boy and begins work on the "Makaveli" album as well as a project called "One Nation" which is meant to dissolve the East Coast/West Coast feud. He also begins work on his own label which is set to branch off of Death Row Records called "Euthanasia." Tupac plans on also using this record company to bring up aspiring rappers and provide a number of community services. While in Las Vegas on September 7th for the Mike Tyson/Bruce Seldon fight he attacks a crip named Orlando Anderson. It is believed that Orlando has played a role in snatching a Death Row pendant from someone affiliated with Death Row Records. Suge Knight and various other people are seen attacking Orlando as well and it is captured on surveillance footage. Tupac and Suge leave in Suge's BMW. It is believed that Tupac was originally supposed to be riding in a bulletproof SUV but this did not happen due to a bad alternator. While heading to club 662 to party, they are heading down Flamingo and stopped at a red light when a white Cadillac pulls up alongside and empties a hail of bullets into the BMW and makes a right hand turn onto Koval. Tupac is shot 4 times, one bullet slices off the middle finger of his right hand and sticks in his thigh - the others hit him in the chest. He undergoes various operations, including the removal of his right lung. On September 13th, at 403pm, after having been revived 7 times, Afeni tells the doctor to let his "spirit be free" and he succumbs to his injuries. The cause of death is cited as respiratory failure and ?
This is a recap of everything i can think of off the top of my head without checking any sources. Surely, some dates/events are incorrect which is why I decided to post this timeline. What can you guys edit/add to this? I'm interested to know.
I know that Tupac was accused by a limo driver of using drugs in his car and going after another rapper with a baseball bat. I don't remember the dates for these things.
