Vicious Telekinesis

#1
It hit me today in the face, I think it was one of Tupac's greatest hits, it caught me in my all eyez on me. There's no more pain.

Anyways  the question hit me why Tupac raps about telekinesis. I personally think it is something that he has picked up from reading books, bear in mind Tupac read a lot of books and injected that into his raps. But really ... Telekinesis, why? Is it some kind of poetical metaphor ...

telekinesis is moving something with your mind, now for eg. in no more pain he goes, "this alcohol increases the change to be deceased im moving you stupid bitches this is telekinesis" hes using telekinesis on the people who drink alcohol and don't have a clue on what it does to their body. hes implying that he can use truth or "Game" to move people without being near them. by move i mean change, or cause them to contemplate and think, or lyrically murder.

kurupt even uses it, he goes "im breaking thru, put on ur teflon barriers and get penetrates telekinetics superior" its all methaphorically. like, hiide all you want ill reveal your fake ass with my lyrics etc, deny all u want, put up your "barriers" but my telekinesis is superior.\

"Mr. Makaveli movin' pieces like telekinesis
It's like a chess game lets play with real pieces"

i love when he uses that word

I have to correct you, it is:

"This alcohol increases the chance to be deceased, I'm moving you stupid bitches, vicious telekinesis."

Post read, lesson learned. Good insight.

^^ i always thought "This is telekinesis" too

but on topic...ive noticed pac got his song titles from movies...like the movie "War Games" and "To Live & Die in L.A."...Pacs lyrical content comes from movies and media influences of all sort.....but i think pac rapping about telekineses was used as a war strategy...pac felt powerful....thats the feeling i get too when i hear his music...and he gave off that power to ppl with his music...thats the effect he had on people...i could just imagine how jay-z or diddy feel everytime they hear 2PAC. hes the best rapper in everyway...i can just imagine.......how when people hear pac..or a big rapper hears pac...they just feel like like they can never be better..or try to be better then 2pac....pac had the power with his music...and right there..he was moving something with his mind..he was moving the ppl with his mind using music.....thats what telekinesis is to me...

he was moving ppl...maybe not physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually with his music

I never saw it that way. Mainly, because he says "THIS Alcohol". "This" implies he's talking about his own, to me. The way I interpreted it was basically him acknowledging that when he consumes liquor, it makes him do things that have serious repercussions, whether that be drunk driving, or getting drunk and stomping out Orlando.

Now, about telekinesis, I agree that he was talking about moving people or being able to control people any way he wanted.

Anyone ever noticed how Pac (on No More Pain) pauses slightly between the syllables of astral: "lets go inside my as-tral plane" - like he is being facetious.

Take two.

Take three. I am schooling you guys :p

Now, about telekinesis, I agree that he was talking about moving people or being able to control people any way he wanted.
The concept of being able to control people sounds absurd. Pac had a lot of things behind him, supporting him, that influenced his interactions with other people. So, just the fact that Tupac was talented, his Panther ties, Death Row ties, and the fact that he was successful, had money, and was on the big screen and in the media, is already a controlling factor to those who he came into contact with. On a personal note it is like Pac knew who he was and what he was saying affected the people who he came into contact with. Like Rahim said, Tupac was able to move people in different ways. Telekinesis here sounds better in the context of influence and motivation, rather than that of control. I think Tupac as a person was too reckless to be confined to the constraints of control.

I also think telekinesis is a clever pun used by 2Pac referring to media control. Let me break this down for you so you can understand my perspective: 'Tele' is a word common here in the UK to refer to Television, one of the biggest form of media. 'Kinesis' is a word that implies control through a stimulus, the stimulus here being television. Tele-kinesis.

kinesis - Definitions from Dictionary.com

Tupac could also be referring to his own influence through the television, like music videos, films/movies, and news.

I have a degree of understanding on Tupac's nuances in his lyrics.

Edit: If you don't know already, Tupac read a book called: Telepathy And The Etheric Vehicle, by Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul. I have this book and have read it.

^ NO, man. I am not talking about definition, I am talking about perspectives. If you believe everything you read, then tell me, what do you use your mind for? Ask yourself, what founds your understanding of grammar, and the complex use of language in a poetic concept as its contrary? Do you really know how Tupac used words? When he says "my ambitions as a writer" but writes "my ambitions as a ridah" - both statements sound the same. Yet 'ambitions as a writer' suit a poet. Hail mary this fucking ambiguity!

its funny how u can take something so simple to me, which i feel with my heart, and make it into some over processed shit. do i really know he used words?? um, well i dont hardcore study it and come up with conclusions that may not be true, gimme some examples of pacs ambiguity in his songs if you dont mind.

Have you been following me on this board or what? My main message on Tupac's lyrics is his ambiguity. I have even made a thread named so.

Tell me, how do you study poetry? You are far behind if you don't understand the signature in Tupac's lyrics related to ambiguity.

Let me ask you, do you know how Shakespeare used words? No, you don't. Tupac did, he knew. 2Pac even said that Shakespeare was 'dope'.

Look up my thread named Tupac's Ambiguity, that might give you some insight on what I talk about. If not, you will constantly hear me referring to it until someone else on my level of linguistic understanding relates to it. Language is the art of Poets, and Tupac superseded in this art.
