Why no new 2pac albums?

Seriously, there's so much material that's still unreleased. Most of One Nation album is still unreleased, so many awesome tracks from basically all eras. I'm not a collector but there are easily 4 or 5 albums one could compose just out of decent publicly available unreleased leaks.

Yet the last 2pac album was released (believe it or not) 8 years ago. Until that, a new album would come out every year or two. Sure, Amaru lost their shit with 2 last albums, but there's still so much material, some of it is awesome. They'd still sell a lot if released in original form, and should be released while most former 2pac fans are still alive..!

Any news, any info? I think lack of 2pac albums is puzzling and weird.

Also, there are still no better versions of "Till my dyin day" or this leaked:

Thinking that all those songs, and much better songs are just sitting there, collecting dust, makes me think it's ridiculous and unfair to fans as well.

I was surprised that nothing was released. I thought it was supposed to be released like a year ago.

I think it has to do with ratchet music being so popular right now.

No one really cares about hiphop right now.

Capitalism (or commercialism) is the reason. The record labels would rather the music sit there, with the potential of making money in the future, rather than release it now - when it won't make money. They don't care about the fans. They care about profit / loss and shareholders.

It's a shame that the people involved weren't actually fans of Tupac's music. The label lacks direction.

There are plenty of options for them to make money and get the music out (if they did care about the fans). They may not be able to go ahead with them due to being in business with Interscope. But... I'll put an obvious one out there (My ideas aren't free). ---- A kickstarter. Release a tracklist for fans to salivate over. Put in different levels of support and reward. When you hit your target. Release the album...! Simples. If you don't hit the target, you don't release the album.

I was really hoping for some kind of 20Th Anniversary special. Too bad it seems like his music is done being released but I do see what you mean about interscope. They may not be allowing his estate to release any more music. How sad for those of us who are still around and would love to hear songs that he left for the intention of them being released and they never will be.
