What's a typical day like for Jokerman?

We all know what each other does for a living, yet he manages to keep quiet. When he goes off on his rants, which he thinks are "intellectual," and begins to put others down that don't agree with him, you start to wonder what credentials he has to make such remarks.

If he's a janitor like Jeremy, I'll brush them off and won't even tell him to check himself before he speaks about others. He's already a fucksy. Now, if Jokerman had a career that required one to be "intelligent" and a critical thinker, I'd sit down and really listen to what he's saying. Clearly, what he had to say would be something he uses himself and I would love to be "intelligent" and enlightened, much like he feels he is.

You let your deemed worth of someone's opinions and views depend on their professional occupation?

REALLY?!

So you wouldn't listen to the wisest janitor in the world, but you'd listen to a piece of shit no-good politician or CEO?

It's what's said that matters...not what the sayer does for a living. You're just digging a big fallacy hole for yourself trying to pin Jokerman against the wall. I don't even know why I'm replying to your inane babblings, as I'm sure Jokerman doesn't need my help putting you in your place.

Well, I don't really disagree much with that "judging by a career" part but there are many people who do what they feel like doing and it doesn't mean that they are stupid (though it's pretty rare) but there are also people who are doing something they shouldn't be doing but got lucky.
Usually though you're doing what you like and feel like you should and usually it reflects who you are or what you're capable of.

Personally I can't judge intelligence over the internet. It usually turns out that in reality those who come out as "average" or "quiet" on the internet tend to be the most intelligent in real life. Most of all intelligent people are hard to understand and don't really give an impression of being intelligent to people who aren't up there too. Most.

I don't know if Jokerman is as intelligent as people make him out to be but he certainly is able to make an interesting point at times. The problem is that people tend to pick 2 extremes while thinking about him.
Even if he takes it all from Wiki and google he's able to write good posts and argue when I say something stupid and that's good enough to prove that he's not stupid.
He probably knows a thing or two about things that he finds interesting. I guess he is interested in certain areas of science - either as a hobby, education or career. Or all of them. He clearly likes to read about these things. Because it's not "heavy science" he usually posts about things that are pretty easy to comprehend, that most people don't know and he writes them in a very intelligible way that seems interesting and makes him look smart. I'm not saying he's not. I enjoy reading many of his posts. Yet definitely he's not stupid, no matter what he does for a living.

On the other hand most of his posts fit in a specific range of topics. He can make a good point in most of them but he rarely (if ever) posts about things that he doesn't have knowledge on. That contributes to his "image".

In my opinion though he reads a lot and is interested in "lighter science" and some areas that almost collide with liberal arts. It's like watching Discovery channel - you can easily get an impression that it's all so smart while they are just trying to explain semi-scientific things as easily as they can (doing a good job at it) and because you are a noob at what they're talking about you are under a specific, positive impression. These are interesting things that most people can't be bothered to care about and that's where Jokerman comes in, because he's interested.
Good writing skills are common amongst people who read a lot too soo..
Jokerman = Discovery Science.

Aw, looks like I indirectly shat in your cunt as well by dissing your occupation.

Cheer up and stop trying to paint a picture of my whole life using one post. I'm even giving Jokerman a chance to explain his so I don't do the same. I don't give two shits about yours, but if you feel the need, type it up in a PM to me and then hit "delete."

I don't trust anyone who is to afraid to post a picture of themselves
And I don't trust anyone who does. Anyway, I look just like Smacky and if you looked like that, you'd be afraid too.

Anyway, who's afraid? You're interpreting it your way. I just want to remain anonymous here. It's the one place I have. If ppl knew who I was or what I do, I wouldn't want to come here anymore because then ppl would have expectations. Let my posts stand for themselves. Those who have any knowledge of whatever subject I'm writing about know whether I know what I'm talking about or not. So, for example, I'm not an expert on cell phones, yet I know that Casey knows what he is talking about on the subject. He doesn't have to work for the cell phone industry for me to know that. But if you know nothing at all about them, as Smacky apparently knows nothing about anything, then you wouldn't have a clue who knows anything about the subject. Likewise, the more you know about a subject, the more you will be able to judge who does know what they are talking about.

I cant remember Jokerman ever saying aynthing serious about his occupation.
I haven't. Smacky seems to be the source of my saying anything about studying medicine. I think one time I gave some medical advice and someone asked if I were a doctor and I explained that if I were then I wouldn't have the right answers about health because it's not who you are, but what you know.

But I'll give some of my background now. In the Balkans I made a fortune with my brother running guns to both sides during the Bosnia thing. We grew up here but were born over there. Our father was in the Serb military during World War Two, so we had ins. We came back rich with a small army of Serb vets that we used to muscle into various rackets--drugs, numbers, prostitution, loan-sharking, anything that turned a profit. We then tied ourselves in with the Russians and used Brighton Beach in Brooklyn as a launching pad against the Haitians and Dominicans. Then when the Kosovo thing started, we went back to guns, but my brother got killed in a deal that went sour. I came back richer and more powerful. Now I'm building a club in NY and I'm calling it Belgravy. It's set to open this winter so you can still make reservations.

So I hope ppl here now understand why I like to keep as anonymous as possible.
