No, I do not. For many reasons.
- Plays favorites. He's said a while back that if you're not playing for your club, you won't play for the NT. Well, he plays them.
- Plays everyone out of position. For example, Eduardo on the wing. Dudu never plays on the wing.
- Plays formations we are not accustomed to (or never even tested)
- He rarely gives youth players a chance. He'd rather play older guys that are past it, instead of giving a young upcoming talent a chance to start. Players that come to mind are Domagoj Vida, Milan Badelj, Ivan Perisic, Mateo Kovacic, Vrsaljko and others...
He did well in 08 as he introduced youngsters (Modric, Corluka, Dudu) that were in his U21 team at the time. It was a pretty big change to the usual conservative managers we have. He rejuvenated our team, and luckily our veterans still had juice in them, but after 08 he didn't take the proper measures to replace them. He hasn't won a big game against an accomplished team since 08. I'm hoping he proves us differently against the Turks, but I don't know many optimists. I think he needs more club experience under him; I could see him becoming a great manager someday.
If he leaves, I wouldn't know any domestic managers I'd like to take over either... the only other manager who has some sort of brain is Zlatko Kranjcar (managed us in 06, and recently Montenegro). It doesn't help that our FA is corrupt as hell, and this bastard has his hands in everything the national team does.
