Q. Are you Australian?

A. Seriously? Have you not watched Steve Irwin? Crocodile Dundee? Skippy?

Do I sound like that? No. Not every one sounds like a Cockney or The Queen. Scousers and Geordies would confuse the fuck outta you guy!
So just because we don't speak like that, don't confuse us with the criminals we sent down under *cough*Stred*cough*

Q. Are you from London?

A. Is that the only city in England that Americans know of? I did once meet an American that asked me if I was from Manchester, I was impressed. But seriously? I could name hundreds of American cities, and dozens of cities in countries around the world.

Q. Can you say something English?

A. Excuse me?

I decided i'd make this thread because im just over a month away until next visit to my beloved America (Thanks Giving). I get the same questions asked every single time I go to America, and being in a US Army family, i've been to America alot. It was funny at first, but now it just too expected. But why is it all ways those same questions? You know, I could understand the 2nd question, but the 1st and 3rd? Seriously, WTF!.

It's not all bad, once the girls know i'm English, it's "Hi, i'm <Insert Female Name>, I noticed you're English, I think that's really cute".

New girl every time. Pow!

I let some guy with an accent burn my hair with a flat iron just so I could listen to him talk :embarresd:

Where are you when you're in the US?

Im from london but Im living/working in the states right now..

The accent thing gets on my nerve! My ex girlfriend and her sister used to ask me to say 'Harry Potter' into their cell phone.. fuck that was annoying

The WORST is how ignorant some people are, when they hear im from london they either ask:
what city is that in? or
is it always foggy over there?

lmao! That's awesome.

Hey, do you know what your step-dad does? I'm interested in interning at Microsoft. Maybe he could put in a word.
Well, if you're using Vista, you're using some of his coding.

Have you eaten at Dixies BBQ in Bellevue yet? They cater at the Microsoft Campus twice a week I believe.

Oh, he does coding...probably wouldn't be able to help if he's not in financial services. That's cool though, probably makes good money.

Naw, I haven't.

what i HATE about Americans, and yes i'm american, is when they say something about British accents. We came from over there, thats where we originated from, and we left. So actually, its us with the accent, thats just how it sounds when spoken properly.

On a side note, I love British accents. I think they are both entertaining and they sound so, educated. I try to fake one sometimes but i just sound like the geico lizards retarded brother.

Nothing you said is new. This has been said millions times before. Americans are ignorant in relation to people around them. They think they are "the world" and others around them are from other planet or something, hence why they call baseball series "world series" lol. They think everything evolves around them.

Americans like to say yes British invented the tongue but we made it better.

Americans also like to make fun of FOBs.

I bet Saakashvili's accent is better than yours and that's no compliment to the man-puppet that he is.

Yes they do. Speaking from the experience I guess?

Americans are the original FOBs.

Man puppet...? welcome to the world of politics Sofia.

I love it. I once ended up in a hot tub full of girls solely due to my accent.

Due to my intoxication though, I don't remember how the chain of event happened that led me to that situation. But it definately began with one girl commenting on my accent.
