wtf kinda shit do they make you do for a license in britain? Make you drive the police obsticle course with your eyes closed?

I'd get a job before you even think of a car. Cars are a huge money sucker, and its the random things that go wrong with it that will hurt you, not the insurance and gas.

that would be the best course of action, but i want a car asap, surely i could get a car and find a job soon after, if i get a car first it will give me more scope on where i can travel to work, giving me more job opportunities, having a car and being able to travel further should make it easier to find a job i would imagine

This is true, you just better make sure you're able to get a job then :p. I'm gonna assume you're not outright buying the car, but putting a down payment down and then making monthly payments. I don't know what its like there, but here if you're jobless its really hard to get credit. Even if you're in between jobs and have a solid history of working, etc.

yeah how do you afford a car if your not working? Where in UK are you? Is there good public transport where u are? I would hold off on the car atleast til you got a job, if you have trouble getting one because you dont have a car then buy one...

i am looking at some form of monthly payment arrangement, i have savings and have always had good credit. our economy is in deep recession at the moment so interest rates might be dipping. recession could mean that it may be harder to find work here also :wondering:

I lived in Barnsley.....if anyone cares...

My dad worked at the hospital there. It wasn't a shithole in the early 90s.
Did you ever visit the Metrodome Leisure Complex in Barnsley? It's right next to the football stadium. I went there often in my teens, they have some proper awesome diving boards there, swimming pool wise, i loved doing somersaults off the middle diving board, and jumping like a madman off the top platform. they have 3 flumes including the blackhole, used to have competitions for time and speed as it records the time and speed of your shoot. also they had this bowl-flume,, which is like a flume leading into a enclosed bowl with a hole in the bottom, shoot into it, spin round for ages then drop out the bottom. I remember trying to stand up inside it while trying to grab the pipes around the edge, which was pretty tricky. It has a good/decent leisure complex at least, great for swimming.

I'm definitely going back, I only stayed 2 days in Skipton :( But yeah next time a bit longer and a swoop thru Leeds! :D
ther is an airport here in doncaster now, the closest one you will get to Leeds, I would happily drive you up in my car :)

Congrats man, it took me 2 attempts in the UK.. it was a biiaaaarrrrtch!

Get a job first if you can, theres no sense in wasting money on loans etc.,.. unless you get a dirt cheap second hand car with savings.. that way your insurance will be way cheaper too.. plus you dont mind getting a few dings here and there

METRODOME!!!! The water park kinda thing right? Man, I've been there a couple of times. Once for a girl's birthday party, once I watched my friend and her family go in, and the other time I actually went in. I guess it was fun. I moved from there just before I turned 5, but I remember it rather clearly. I was born and lived in Cardiff so I can't remember a whole lot, but Cosmestan (sp.) lake and Puganese(sp.)? I remember going there alot to feed the ducks.
