Steve McClaren hired as Nottingham Forest coach... wonder how that'll turn out.
I'm really wondering how that will turn out... He did good in Holland but failed miserably with a good Wolfsburg team. Forest will either go down or go up with him...

could someone update the thread titles for 2011/2012?

Liverpool beat Malaysian XI 6-3 in a friendly yesterday. no big deal. they are shit ofc but Aquilani was awesome when he came on. his passing was brilliant. he has a touch of class about him. hope he stays.

have a feeling Meireles could be sold though, but he is also a player i like too.

I like him, his backheel incident was hilarious, people are over-reacting to it though I think, it was in a friendly game and he probably did think he was offside.

Funny thing is that even though I agree with all your comments, I just can't stand his antics :D I saw that back-heel incident, it cracked me up when the crowd started to boo him and he was stunned by it.

Aguero on his way to Man City.

Aguero or Tevez, who would you prefer?
Tevez.

I have to be honest, I think a lot of the time Balotelli is a prick. But he thought the back heel was offside. Typical Americans making too big a deal out of it. It's because they feel inferior to Man City.

King Eric takes a little swipe at Tevez/Balotelli and Man City in general. He's right also.
"I don't know how City work. Maybe they are working on the academy.

"But today they want to spend millions to buy players to build a team.

"They have been successful because they won the FA Cup but if they only want to do that, they will not be as strong as Manchester United.

"United work on the long term, with young talent."

The 45-year-old is in Manchester to take charge of New York Cosmos for Friday's game, which sees them take on the Red Devils as a part of Paul
Scholes'

testimonial.

Cantona also took a swipe at City's forwards,
Carlos

Tevez

and Mario Balotelli, who have both complained about living in Manchester in the past.

"They don't like the place?" he laughed.

"It depends upon where they come from. If they come from Milan, maybe. Also it depends why they have come.

"I had a great time here and a great time in the city but the most important thing for me was to play for the best club in the world, with the best players in the world.

"I was a professional player. I didn't try to find a city to enjoy it. The greatest time you can have is on the pitch."

tbf to them they have brought through alot of players in the recent past.

players like Hart, Richards,Onouha, Sturridge, Ireland, Michael Johnson (talented but an idiot), Weiss, Boyata all came through recently but that was before the new owners and their billions came to town. since then they have gone from a team bringing through young talent and giving them a chance to a team that just buys all around them. Chelsea are probably worse though when you think about it.

Yeah City have a pretty good youth team, but I like what he said about players not liking where they live.

Your right about Chelsea, who last came up from their youth team? John Terry? josh mceachran is coming up through the ranks, thats about it.
