Our midfield looked pretty damn good on paper at least, when Meireles and Aquilani were still part of the squad. Fair enough, we probably couldnt not have held on to both but to let both of them go like that was a disgrace imo

He did, but like it or not. He's going to be remembered for the miss and not how well he played. It's just the way the media and footy fans roll (not all, but for the most part). He shouldn't have missed that though, with his talent, skill and the importance of the game - it's something that has to be put away.
