11/12 Premier League thread

^^the thing is though. i was never overly bothered about how he left liverpool. I was far more pissed at Torres leaving after everything he said. Its not even the fact he joined Manchester United either. From a footballing point of view i could understand it but it does show what an asshole he is. I just dont like him as a person. He absolutely loves himself, is extremely arrogant and if you look at this career, he has pretty much failed imo. When he at Liverpool i never really liked him that much either.he was never a favourite of mine.

Apparently the nicest and genuine English footballers are:

David Beckham
Micah Richards
Michael Owen
Gareth Barry

I don't think Owen deserved to be boo'd by Newcastle fans. Newcastle fans at one point didn't even like their Messiah Alan Shearer, believing he was holding back the team as he pretty much ran it. Then they wanted him to become their manager, deluded fans who thought they missed out on Torres before he joined Liverpool. Newcastle is a joke of a club, and I hope get relegated next season.

Bobby you said it shows what an asshole he is, but wern't you annoyed when Tevez didn't join Liverpool because he said he couldn't due to the rivalry with Man Utd?

I do agree that his career hasn't been as good as it should have been. He's on 40 goals for England, only 9 short of the record, at what, 30? He should still be in the reckoning for that but his injuries have really destroyed him. Still, he won the Ballon d'or I guess.

At 23 years old he was fantastic. England were too reliant on him though. But what a player. Could finish with 1 chance at any level. Can't comment on him personally.

^^

I don't blame him for going to Real. I'd love more English players to play abroad. I hope Leighton Baines goes to Juventus, and I'd love to see Rooney at Madrid.

At least he had the confidence in his own abilities to make the move abroad. Same with Becks. Not many have moved abroad from the Premier League.

I don't need to defend him any further. Just how I see it.

^^yea it was a great career move. going to Real Madrid when they already had Raul and Ronaldo as their strikers. Morientes was there as well.
Baptista and Robinho also lolz. Owen was a good signing but at a very unstable time at Madrid.

But I do think more English players should move abroad. Jermaine Pennant did it, even though he failed at Zaragoza he still made the leap to try something different. Hell even Jay Bothroyd did it when he joined Perugia.

Yeah, there was a bit of it on the line. Thing is, Gomes is a good shot stopper, but he does this far too much, I think Spurs will sell him in the summer.

Offside and a non goal. I don't think people realise the amount of decisions Chelsea have gotten over the years. This makes tomorrow a must win. Well at least a draw.

they did. but for the first goal, the keeper is completely to blame for that. A highly paid pro keeper letting a ball slip behind him like that. i dint see the second goal properly yet.

Man Utd will win tomorrow. i have no doubt about that.

its good for us that Spurs lost.

^^yea i do. its a good opportunity to give the young players some experience and game time. it was useful last season i thought.

but the competition itself is in drastic need of a revamp imo. so does the champions league actually.

Haven't seen the Chelsea game but word on the street is that both of their goals were highly suspect!

Looking forward to missing tomorrows game due to work, I don't have a good feeling about this one.
