Manchester United right-back has hit out at the selections that England manager Fabio Capello has made for this summer’s World Cup.
Neville criticised the Italian’s decision to name only one right-back, Glen Johnson, to his 30-man provisional team, wondering if the Three Lions boss has left his squad too thin at the back.
The 35-year-old was being considered for a spot in England’s World Cup squad after a resurgence with United this season, but was not shocked that he was left off of the Three Lions’ squad.

"I wouldn't say I'm overly disappointed not to be named in Fabio Capello's initial 30-man England World Cup squad," Neville told The Mirror.
"Although I did think there was maybe a chance I could get in, I was under no illusions how tough it would be after not being named in the squad for a year.
"I'm slightly surprised in some ways that there is only one right-back in the entire squad, but I'm probably more surprised Wes Brown isn't in the 30, to be honest.”
The former England international also called Capello’s effort to convince United team-mate Paul Scholes to come out of international retirement a ‘desperate’ move.
"Capello spoke to Scholes to try and bring him back into the squad, but Scholes retired a good few years ago from international football and he's not the type to go back on that.
"I'm not surprised Capello tried to get him out of retirement because if there's one player I would try to pull out of retirement, it's Scholes.
"Capello maybe got a bit desperate at the last minute and wanted Scholes because he's still probably the best midfielder in England, but Scholes decided to stick to his guns."

years ago in championship manager 2006 i actually signed Besian Idrizaj (which is how i discovered who he was). Sad to see another young talent cut short of his career.

RIP

Goal.com is such a piece of shit. I stopped going on the site cause they piss me off and make me want to shit my pants.

As for Besian Idrizaj, RIP ... talk about young players just dropping like flies.

Did anyone watch the play off final yesterday. First half was excellent. Blackpool won 3-2 and will be in the premiership next season. Im looking forward to seeing more of Ian Holloway.

Blackpool have a very promising Irish right back. Seamus Coleman is his name. he is on loan from Everton. he has been fantastic for them. hope he can go on a be a top player. only 18 i think.

We nearly lost another promising young defender the other day though. Shane Duffy was nearly killed in a collision during a friendly for Ireland. he was very lucky. He had to have emergency surgery and thankfully is recovering now. There are still worries that might not be able to play again though. He is 18 and also plays for Everton.

Coleman looks a fantastic prospect, i would imagine he may even get a game for Everton next season.

Great goal by Charlie Adam yesterday, tops off a great season for him. Glad to see him doing well and i look forward to a trip to Blackpool next season.

we have a chairman at this club at the moment who is actually a Chelsea fan. how did they let this cunt be chairman? He was sent up by Chelsea to make it easier to buy our players. Its an absolute fucking shambles of a club. If Torres is sold to Chelsea then Hicks and Gillett should be assassinated next time they come to Liverpool. Yank bastards.

^^well the majority dont want him to go.

i think he has made mistakes and i am critical of certain things he has done but what are the alternatives?

We should get Maradona as manager lol. He would probably kick the shit out of the owners.

Inter Milan want Benitez.

Its amazing how he is considered a dud by the English media yet Juventus wanted him and now it seems that Inter Milan want him to take over from Mourinho it seems.
