From what I remember, Villa won the Southern championship 3 times in a row now... The North was Man Utd and Liverpool... Sunderland won it two years ago, I remember this because I thought to myself that their reserve team made more sense than the first squad...

Anyway, there's a final or something at the end of the season or something.
yea, villa won 2 years ago, beating sunderland in the final. close match.

last year, we were seriously cheated out of the title against man united. and so villa never won anything at all. no carling cup, no fa cup, no 4th place, no reserve league, or youth cups. at least we got europe.

villa's youngsters are promising, and they showcase their talent on the reserve stage. the likes of agbonlahor, delfouneso, albrighton and co have made the transition into the first team. i hope to see ciaran clark, barry bannan and shane lowry come through the ranks and hopefully not become another stephen cooke (promising youngster who never cut it in the first team and then sold on).

bannan is on loan with blackpool for another season i believe, since they gained promotion.

I hope Harry gets no where near the National Team. He is over rated. Yes he can buy some good players. Can't forget Marco Boogers. But he is tactically out of his depth. He is a dinosaur. He would do a lot worse than Capello. Who is probably the best manager we've had in decades.

What needs to be done is development of the current players. The U17 team who just beat Spain to become Champions. These players need first team football. And not in League 1 where the ball is hoofed forward. They need to play slow technical football. And be allowed to develop and make mistakes. Alex Ferguson does it in the League Cup, as do Arsenal.

^^its possible because i dont think they will be seeded.

i dont begrudge Spurs their place though but i have my reservations about Redknapp. he is such a bluffer imo.

i understand you wanting to see them go out though being and Arsenal fan lol

^There are no seedings any more. Meaning Tottenham could face Sevilla :thumb: One thing what Platini has got right is allow the Champions of lesser leagues face each other, so they don't have to face the team who finished 4th in England/Spain/Italy.

It's not so much me being an Arsenal fan i'd just love to see the English media trying to justify how good a manager 'arrys is after talking him up so much over the summer.

Same here. His analysis on BBC Sport was abysmal. At half time of the England Germany match he came up with some astute tactical advice. "I'd stick big Crouchy on, and lump some balls up to him. See how the German defence copes." As always, the master tactician.

Martin Jol was the best Spurs manager over the last 10 years. Although Harry has done a good job there, his achievements seem greater because Ramos did so badly.
