if i remember correctly it was because of him that Hitzlsperger wasn't getting too many chances until he broke through in midfield. (hitz used to play left back often).

I'm gonna watch the Villa game on C+ Futbol HD. Then I'm going to watch The Scouser play The Toon on ESPN HD.

Tomorrow.... I'll skip the Bolton and Wolves games.... Meh.... And I'll watch Spurs and Chelsea on Sky SPorts.

Then Monday I'll watch Gooners United on Sky....

A nice weekend of footy.

Villa looked a lot better today. Cuellar made a huge difference in defence. Albrighton and Downing were quality. Heskey scored, but I think he closed his eyes and got lucky. He should have had at least 2. Solid debut for Lichaj.

Lichaj is pretty good from the reserve games ive seen him play in - he's knocking on the door of the first team now. I think albrighton being back gives the team an uplift. Cuellar is really good, i always did prefer him over collins - but coillins shoots and heads really well for a centre half which is why im undecided sometimes. the competition will be good.

Im disappointed though because we conceded yet again. will watch the highlights. also villa need to control games more and keep possession rather than running after the ball for the majority. everyone talks about how villa can last the full 90 - that has got to be the reason. they run around more than the other team, play long balls and often lose the ball and back to square one. we need to recapture the form we had in 06/07.

To be fair to Liverpool, they totally dominated the game up until I switched off at about 60mins. Torres looks hopeless right now, why didn't Babel start? Surely you would want to start him and the little bit of good form hes showing.

But losing 3-1 to Newcastle is lolarrifc.

Even if Hodgson goes, it isn't going to be champions league football for Liverpool for a while. I still blame Rafa. Think towards the end he ruined that team. Carra and Gerrard can't last forever either.

^^explained how he ruined considering the only real changes from the team that came second and last season's team that he left behind were losing ALonso and Arbeloa who were replaced by Johnson and Aquilani.

Rafa didnt send a promising young Argentinian full international in his final year of contract to go on loan to Galatasaray and then replace him with a 29 year old english left back with 2 caps to his name.

Rafa had planned to utilise Aquilani this season after he showed great promise towards the end of last season. he was fully fit to go this season but Roy decided to give him away to JUventus where he is doing very well by all accounts and plays most of their games. Then we get Cole into play in that position but he has probably played almost as little as Aquilani did at this stage last season.

Rafa wasnt the one playing Raul Mereiles out on the right side of midfield when he is clearly a central midfielder

Rafa didnt allow Mascherano to leave so easlily and then replace him with a heap of shit who couldnt make a bad Juventus team last season.

Rafa may have played negative at times but with Roy it has been much worse. like yesterday when Liverpool were 2-1 down we still had 8 players behind the ball all clumped up together. Babel was further forward and Torres was completely isolated on his up front.

i reckon the reason for Torres sub par performance this season is because he doenst like this manager. i heard a rumour that when NESV came in Torres and Reina told them that either he goes or they do. Benitez always got the best out of Torres. Roy cant get anything out of him in some matches mainly because of the tactics.

Hodgson has managed to win 8 away games in something like 2 years. Liverpool have never had so many losses in the first half of a season as they do so far this season.
