Do you mean like, you're walking around the mall and think to yourself "holy shit, look at all these people, I see them looking at me, what are they thinking?"
No it's not a social anxiety. I think it started when I was sick. They were giving me the strongest pain meds everytime I went to the hospital. Any pain I was in....they would give me the strongest dose. I finally told them "Yes I'm in pain but I don't need enough to knock out a horse"

They found a treatment (for my problem above) so no more pain meds and I started to feel anxious. If I'm in a room I want the doors open and the blinds open.

Once I'm already anxious it becomes a social anxiety too bc I don't want to interact with ppl. Like...they can see that I'm anxious they're probably wondering why.

I'm not saying I didn't have ANY anxiety before but after coming off a meds made it 10x worse.

Do you start feeling dizzy at all?
I dk...I feel unsteady/off balance.

I don't know if I feel totally dizzy... like I want to fall over or whatever. It's more of a whirlwind-like feeling inside my head.. Everything seems to be going very fast...and mentally I find it difficult to keep up so to speak. It's as if my mind is struggling to take everything in. I don't know if it's because I start to get nervous, or that is what causes my nervousness.

It's really hard to explain. When it starts to happen I have to focus on a particular thing and concentrate really hard to reassure myself that everything is cool and that I should just relax and take it easy.

What I feel:

* I feel as if everything is very noisy. Ofcourse shopping centres are noisy.. but it becomes more pronounced. I notice it more... and it makes me nervous

* I feel that everything seems so overcrowded. A massive movement of people all going in one direction...

* I feel that all these people are looking at me in some way. Looking at how i walk, how i look etc. It's that feeling of being watched and is makes me uneasy and a little bit nervous.

I tolerate it, though. Maybe it's because my case isn't so bad i only feel like getting the fuck out rather than following through.

But yeh.. it's not only shopping centres.. Usually just when there's a big crowd around. Sometimes it happens, other times it doesnt. Weird.

^I'd go for agoraphobia or claustrophobia. Are you only anxious because there's a lot of people or because the room is small? Since you stated that you feel like that in malls and malls are large space, I'd go for agoraphobia.

Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder related to fear. With agoraphobia, you fear being in places where it may be difficult or embarrassing to get out quickly or where you may have a panic attack and can't get help. Because of your fears, you avoid places where you think you may have a panic attack or panic-like symptoms.

People with agoraphobia often have a hard time feeling safe in any public place, especially places where crowds gather. Commonly feared places and situations are elevators, sporting events, lines, bridges, public transportation, driving, shopping malls and airplanes. The fears can be so overwhelming that some people are essentially trapped in their own homes — it's the only place they feel truly safe, so they don't venture out into public at all.

If you really are a psych student I think you should've stopped at simply 'anxiety disorder', which may even be taking it too far. Given keco's information claustrophobia seems very unlikely (unless she was locked in the trunk of Eric's car for a while). Agoraphobia is possible but it seems like jumping the gun.

Was the anxiety you felt before significant? I don't mean in terms of severity but in terms of frequency. If I were you I'd try to get the name of the drugs they had you on and get a list of possible side-effects, might shed some light on what you're feeling right now.

If you've had anxiety problems for a while (doesn't matter how bad they are, just if it's a recurring problem) you should do something about it. Stuff like that gets more deep-rooted as time passes, making it harder to fix and the symptoms will increase in variety/severity.

EDIT: People can develop an anxiety disorder simply by worrying too much, so you don't necessarily need to look "deep" things.

^I went to the dr and told her everything and she just wrote me an RX for a new anxiety medicine :S which is not what I wanted. She gave me a rescue medicine to take if I felt an anxiety attack coming. I took one and slept for 14 hours. So I guess it works...since I'm not anxious when I'm asleep.

I looked up the side effects of the medicine I was on and anxiety IS one of them! U so smaht :p also...confusion, dizziness/fainting and memory loss. Excellllllllent.
