"Im just as tired of all the bling bling, ice, cars, women, money, and im-harder-then you attitude that runs hip hop these days"
Besides a few things in their isn't that what All Eyes on Me was, especially the "im-harder-than you" attitude.
I'm thinking when I say global icon I think of bigger then what you think global icon is. There are very very few global icon's around today. Michael Jackson, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, blah blah, from the rap world id say like Jay or 50 are global icons. There werent Tupac and Biggie gangs in South Africa until after their deaths, not before. Me Against the World and 7 Day are total different tastes from Tupac, I like Me Against the World better, I would say he was at his most lyrical their, not on 7 Day. He was more profound with what he was saying. The beats are better on 7 day. I think a lot more people like 7 Day better because he was "harder" on that album and that is attractive to most people. Ahhh I cant believe you aren't feelin One time that much, man he rides that beat so nice, such a mellow ass track just kick back and blaze to it. He comes correct too. Ahh that track is for me thats all that matters. but like I was sayin I dont need to lower my taste to like something, I just hold some shit in high high regard. Like I dont see anything touching Illmatic probably, thats the greatest rap album made to me, so far it doesnt get better. But back to the All Eyes arguement. It might of made a business impact but as far as artistic expression and as far as material is concerned it really didnt make that big of an impact. Its not like as far as the music goes he didnt do anything anyone did before. I really dont have time to say anymore but i will later.
