A 34-year-old chorus teacher at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual abuse of two female students.
Jason Krigas, choral music program director at Prospect High in District 214, is accused of fondling the students at the high school during the 2001-2002 school year and in the fall of 2003, according to a statement from police in the northwest suburb.
It said Krigas is suspended from the school.
One of the students told a school staff member about an incident with Krigas, leading to his arrest, according to the police statement.
Krigas, of Fox River Grove, is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Police suspect there are other victims, according to the release.
Krigas was being held for a bond hearing this morning in Rolling Meadows, police said.
According to a newspaper profile of Krigas published last fall, he was a popular leader who built an award-winning program.
