HipHop 2005

HipHop 2005 -9th April 2005

aint nothin like when that music drops
..head noddin’ -hiphop completes me
-like Common droppin’ on that 'Be' beat
yeah thats the shit -ya gotta feed me
2005 i keep eating the words -speaking
..like KRiS -the chief/king, hes not leaving
Generique's the shit, believe me..
-Royce, Primo, and Chino say "Enough Beefing"
while Ghost and Mega believe Montana's still breathing
-ya feel me? the streets is back on tapes (mixed)
the vitruvian man is back too -yeah Can-I-Bis
..the king of this...Nas -handin' over his
to Quan...the future of this shit...
-that’s it, and this things only getting’ started
..'it ended with the dearly departed' -pardon?
-the noise of Shyeim bringin' it back..
Rza's still fatal when he's lacin' those raps
with fly beats -reminds me of ice cream
on the 9th hottest day of a long hot summer -surprising
that i've been ..complaining about this ART
-when the real music is still alive -and in our hearts.

i wrote this piece about hiphop after reading a thread about the 'current state of hiphop'.....i've kinda realised that we complain a lot about the parts of the art we dont like (e.g the commercialism) -but when i really thought about it...i realised there is still a lot of heart and a lot of talent out there...and i just had to write somethin..

feedback would be cool...especially on the topic......

I liked this... its totally different and makes an awful lot of sense! Yes hip hop nowadays has become more commercialised but we can still take something away from it, it can still mean something to us as individuals and there is still alot of talent out there as your poem reflects.

I liked how you put it all together, the flow and the vocab was really good and well written I thought

I felt this peice. Great. Most of the rappers you've mentioned have talent yet the people seem oblivious to them. It's sad. You know.

Great job.. thumbs up bro.

Again, to me this looks & reads like a rap verse.

I'm not meaning to cause a problem, but it just doesn't seem like poetry - & I am fully aware that poetry takes many shapes & forms.

It just seems better suited to Show Ya Flow.

^^but rap IS poetry...

and even if it reads like a "rap verse" to you....thats not its intention....this is NOT going to be in any song....its a poem.
