The tarantula hawk is relatively docile and rarely stings without provocation. The sting, particularly of Pepsis formosa, is among the most painful of any insect, but the intense pain only lasts for about 3 minutes.[3] Commenting on his own experience, one researcher described the pain as “…immediate, excruciating pain that simply shuts down one’s ability to do anything, except, perhaps, scream. Mental discipline simply does not work in these situations.”[4] In terms of scale, the wasp’s sting is rated near the top of the Schmidt Sting Pain Index, second only to that of the bullet ant and is described by Schmidt as “blinding, fierce [and] shockingly electric”.[5] Because of their extremely largestingers, very few animals are able to eat them; one of the few animals that can is the roadrunner
I just saw a guy on TV literally hold one of these fuckers by it's wings while it wriggled and squirmed and tried to escape. Brave-ass motherfucker, I would run like hell.

I think there's a curse. I've been playing Fallout: New Vegas for the last few days, today I decided that I'll stop playing that game to study but I'll check "our block" first. I open the first thread, open a wikipedia article for this tarantula-wasp-thing and I see:
"The Cazador creature in the 2010 video game Fallout: New Vegas is a giant, heavily mutated tarantula hawk wasp"
Now that wouldn't be so strange but I saved the game just after getting the "find cazador eggs" quest.
I launched Fallout new vegas again to complete it just in case :(.

This past summer, I was having a smoke on the porch when I saw this bright red ant-spider combo thing just chilling on the ground near me. Being the brave when I'm scared type, I took my slipper off, golfed it off the porch and went inside.

I got curious as to what it was, so I started search using its description on Google. Turns out it was a velvet ant, aka a cow-killer. Never saw one again.

I don't understand that meme. The guy has two hot girls on either side of them. Why is he a faggot?

I dunno, but I usually see douchey, lonely guys taking pics with promotion models. They think it means something, the girls are like "ugh, whatever."

I had a friend who bragged about having a trip to an Alabama game when he was still in high school as an Eagle Scout and got to take pics with the cheerleaders. Every time we mention "cheerleaders" of some sort, "epic story, guys!!!"

Fucking imbecile.

And yes, that is what it looked like. It was closer to me so it looked more like this

Turns out all they are is wingless wasps. With one coon of a sting.

That kinda makes sense.

Although I just realized that maybe the "joke" is that he's wearing a Rockstarr cap and shirt at a promotional event for Monster - two rival energy drinks companies. Maybe that's like wearing a Coke shirt and posing with Pepsi models. I dunno.

And that velvet ant does look like it packs a serious sting. I definitely wouldn't fuck with it. I think insects with bright colors like that are generally pretty bad. The colors are supposed to warn off bigger animals from eating them, or something.

One of my biggest fears are insects and OMG! >.< The red spider thing (can't remember the name) freaked me out. I'm not comfortable right now... I really hate bugs.

My biggest bug fear: Botfly

I just had a greasy breakfast of sausage, bacon, and eggs...and didn't throw up watching that. Stomach's getting stronger. Yay!
