Now, I looked up the word Convalescent and found this as its definition:

Noun
1. Gradual return to health and strength after illness. 2. The period needed for returning to health after illness.


How does that fit at all into the lyrics above? Is pac mis-using it or is it slang for something else?

Uh..It's pretty obvious. A convalescent is someone recovering (you posted the definition for convalescence.) He's saying he refuses to be someone recovering, i.e. hurt or damaged, saying he's strong and relentless.

2pac checked himself out of bellvue in new york after being shot because he thought he was a target and wasn't safe under the cheesy police protection (usually one flat foot at the door with a newspaper and a sammich). in 96 when he was near death he ripped out the iv and breathing tubes as is common among critical care patients because of disorientation and the body's natural instinct to remove foreign objects that are causing pain (breathing tubes aren't a walk in the park).

it amazes me how people like you (no offense) make pac out to be some superhero. look, he was a man, just like me and maybe some day like some of you once you grow up and stop holding onto these childish notions that he was more than flesh and bones. pac was a creative man who was a master of his craft, but he wasn't superman, jesus, or a prophet. k?
