John Lennon vs 2pac Rock Phenomenon question

I was listening to rock phenomenom... Some of its corny and some of its decent..anyways, i was listening to the 2pac vs john lennon track, which i like...it uses the never call u b*tch again vocals over the john lennon "imagine" beat...however, i was wondering if anyone knew who sang the hook or what song the hook on that track is from... if anyone knows the answers, please help me out.... its goes somethings like "i'd change all my ways, but i ain't gonna change your mind...so why try? then comes the up and the downside, but whatever the case only you can relate.... to my mind(?)" ...it goes something like that... sorry if i butchered it, some of that hook is incoherent to me...anyways, hopefully someone knows where its from..thanks in advance...
