i hate pimps...

"Jan 16, 2005 6:37 pm US/Eastern
(1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) A Long Island pimp named Romeo who forced two "young and vulnerable" runaway teenage girls into prostitution, beat them and took all the money they earned turning tricks has been sentenced to up to six years in prison, prosecutors said.

The pimp, Woodolph Romeo, 25, lured the 13- and 14-year-old girls into his prostitution business, repeatedly sexually attacked them and forced them to have sex with scores of male customers, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said in announcing the sentencing.

"The case proves that prostitution is not a victimless crime but rather a despicable offense against society committed by predators who enslave young women a day at a time," Brown said in a statement.

Romeo, of Elmont, put the girls to work near John F. Kennedy International Airport in an area known as the Track, where they performed oral sex for $40 and sexual intercourse for $100 in cheap motels, the district attorney said. The girls worked for Romeo three or four times a week from October 2001 to May 2004, having sex with up to 15 men each night, prosecutors said.

The girls told investigators that they had to make a certain amount of money each night or face being beaten and that they couldn't leave Romeo because they were afraid he would find them.

Romeo punched the 14-year-old in the face, leaving her with a scar under her right eye, and forced her to have "Romeo" tattooed on her arm, prosecutors said when the charges were filed in August.

Romeo pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to second-degree attempted promoting prostitution before Queens Supreme Court Justice Dorothy Chin-Brandt, who imposed Friday's sentence of two to six years in prison.

Romeo was charged Aug. 23 with kidnapping, promoting prostitution, assault, rape and performing a criminal sexual act and could have faced up to 25 years in prison if convicted at trial. He had been held on $250,000 bail after his arrest at Rikers Island jail, where he was locked up on an unrelated robbery charge."

6 years=not enough
I would agree.

Lets look at other 6 year convictions

A Sacramento man, Ross A. Rojek, was sentenced to 75 months in prison and ordered to pay $2.5 million to his victims. Rojek, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of securities fraud and one count to mail fraud in federal court, that was presided over by Judge Lawrence K. Karlton. The securities fraud included a fake real estate investment firm.
Former Forest Service technician Terry Lynn Barton was sentenced to six years in prison Friday after tearfully apologizing and telling a courtroom filled with family, friends and victims, that she hasn't forgiven herself for starting Colorado's largest-ever wildfire.

"The fact that I hurt people kills me each and every day because I do love people," she said. "So I'd just like to say that I am sorry."

Barton, 39, pleaded guilty in December to federal charges of igniting the 138,000-acre fire, then lying to investigators. Last month, she pleaded guilty to a single state arson charge, which was filed to cover property damage
Whats the lesson? --- Pimp money buys good lawyers.

I wonder what, if asked personally live on National TV, rappers would have to say about calling themselves pimps, with regards to that article.

I know they're not pimps, they just like to 'think' they are.

As for 2Pac, he is my favourite rapper so he would've been inserted.

here's an older article when it was first reported:

"Alleged Pimp Was Forcing
Teen Girls Into Prostitution
Took Away All Their Earnings

by An alleged pimp has been charged with forcing two underage girls—a 13-year-old runaway and a 14-year-old from Nassau County—into prostitution by repeatedly beating and raping them.
It is charged that the defendant lured his young victims into the sex trade, put them to “work” on Rockaway Boulevard in Jamaica, forced them to perform repeated “tricks” with male customers in cheap hotels, engaged in sexual acts with them and retained the proceeds.
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown identified the defendant as Woodolph Romeo, 25, currently of Baylis Avenue in Elmont, Long Island. Romeo has been charged with kidnapping in the second degree, promoting prostitution in the second and third degrees, assault in the second degree, rape in the second degree, criminal sexual act in the second and third degrees and conspiracy in the fourth degree. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
According to the charges, Romeo forced the two teenage girls to work for him as prostitutes between October 2001 and May 2004 on Rockaway Boulevard and North Conduit Avenue, also known as “The Track,” in Jamaica.
It is alleged that the two females worked for Romeo at the intersection three or four times a week and performed sex acts for money with up to 15 males each night. It is also alleged that in September 2002 the 14-year-old female performed oral sex on Romeo on about five different occasions and that between February and June 2004 Romeo engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sex with the 13-year-old girl.
It is additionally alleged that Romeo kept the 13-year-old victim at his former residence on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in Jamaica, and the 13-year-old victim feared that if she left the residence he would physically assault her.
In December 2002, Romeo is alleged to have punched the 14-year-old victim in the face and caused her to sustain a scar underneath her right eye.
Romeo reportedly required that the 14-year-old victim earn at least $500 a night, that both young women had to charge males $40 to $50 for oral sex and $80 to $100 for sexual intercourse and that both victims had to give him all their prostitution earnings.
Additionally, it is alleged that if the 14-year-old victim failed to bring Romeo at least $500 a night he would punish her and sometimes beat her.
It is further alleged that in February 2004 Romeo ordered the 14-year-old victim to get a tattoo on her arm bearing his name “Romeo,” and if she did not comply he would have punished her.
Romeo—who was being held in custody on Rikers Island on an unrelated robbery charge—was arrested last Friday in the prostitution case. He was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court before Judge Pauline A. Mullings who set bail of $250,000 and a return date of September 7.
“According to the charges, the defendant lured the victims—two young and vulnerable girls—into his prostitution operation,” D.A. Brown said. “He is accused of violating, degrading and exploiting them by repeatedly sexually attacking and beating them and then forcing them to perform various sexual acts with scores of male customers, retaining the proceeds for himself. This case underscores the fact that prostitution is not a victimless crime but rather a despicable offense against society practiced by callous jackals who enslave young women without hope and victimize them a day at a time.”
The investigation was conducted by Detective Ralph Mosca of the NYPD Juvenile Crimes Squad under the supervision of Sergeant Sue McConnell and Detective Mike Failla of the NYPD’s 113th Squad under the supervision of Lieutenant Michelle Kaiser and in conjunction with the District Attorneys Special Proceedings Bureau.
Assistant District Attorney Susan Lee Kim of the District Attorney’s Special Proceedings Bureau is prosecuting the case under the supervision of Assistant District Attorneys Anthony M. Communiello, Chief, and Oscar W. Ruiz, Deputy Chief, and the overall supervision of Executive Assistant District Attorney for Investigations Peter A. Crusco and Deputy Executive Assistant District Attorney for Investigations Linda M. Cantoni.
It was noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty."
