(DAMN, WHY IS OUR FORUM SO DEAD?! WE NEED MORE ATTENTION!)
Sup ya'll, been enjoyin' the recent poems...
I dedicate this poem to the song by Donny Hathaway titled Little Ghetto Boy.
Little Ghetto Boy, playing in the ghetto streets
What you gonna do when you go home to see
Your mama drinkin' more Alize every damn day
Stressed from 2 marriages and she so miserable
The Paradox you livin' in is all so critical
You walk into your 3 bedroom house with 7 residents
Lookin' out the barred window, seein' crime elements
You sit. You cry. Tryna find out why
Why everyday you findin' the urge 2 get high
Hell, your lil ghetto sista is grown up too fast
Tight shirt, tight skirt showin' the crack of her ass
Ya other lil' ghetto brothaz seein' everything cruel
They act up and they always get suspended from school
Keep ya cool, lil youngsta. Ignore ya step pappy
Sh*t, he the reason why ya family is unhappy
He's touchin' on your sista and he's beatin' on ya mama
He make it seem like you the reason for the drama
And all you ever did was go to school and keep the house clean
Writin' poetry, tryna pray for your dream
But you stuck in a household that's so damn corrupted
The value of family life becomes deducted
You sittin in the driveway lookin' at the stars so bright
Tryna stay strong for another day to fight-
-Ya stepfather or your hunger since you got nothin' 2 eat
Believe yo' self and ya faith. I'm sorry for ya misery
I shed a tear for you cuz every night I go to sleep
I remember as a kid that you was just like me
Infact I still am, just wiser and more bitter
Pressure on our shoulders cuz we can't be no quitters
Cuz if we do, that means theres no more smiles
For peace and harmony, we'd both walk millions of miles
Everythings gotta get better but understand
Survivin' Ghetto Boys becomes the Strongest Ghetto Man
Your so young, you got so far to go
Believe yo' self homie, I know it's easy to let go
Me and you shared the same demonic evil soul
What can I say to a younger version of me, sh*t I don't know
The anger in our hearts is the strongest force we got
The pain was always there and real dad was not
Keep a book of poetry. Don't sweat what nobody say
Them mothafuckaz ain't the ones that be livin' day-to-day
With a mind so suicidal, your existense so vital
Stand up Lil' Ghetto Boy so you can soon claim your title
Everythings gotta get better but understand
Survivin' Ghetto Boys becomes the Strongest Ghetto Man
Turned out to be somethin' dedicated 2 a younger version of myself...Ya'll ever think about goin' back in time and talk to yourself like a spirit or somethin'? Just thinkin'....
Peace...
