There's a huge difference between using someone's name and using their name and supporting whay they stand/stood for.
I agree with Rizzle. It's like a huge taboo on some things, when people need to pull their overly senstive heads out of their over sensitive and most likely irritated assholes, wake up, and not cry out "murder" at the first and slightest hint of name X.

the core of this thread revolved around syke taking on the name "mussolini" as an alias and that being a stupid thing of him to do. we all know that mussolini didn't support the real mussolini's ways of thinking and acting. i'm saying if someone takes on the name "hitler", that to me is not wrong, and i wouldn't give two fucks. if rakim changed his name to "adolf" and put out a banging album, i'd buy it and listen to it. lol.
not saying you wouldn't be shot. if i released an album under the name "hitler" it surely wouldn't be sold in stores. that's not to say blocking such an album isn't a fucked up thing to do. i'd expect jews not to buy it, but why should you or me or john doe give a fuck?

Mwoah, i think some taboos should exist. But there's a huge difference between, lets say, changing your stage name to Hitty Hitler, then put out a banging album that has nothing whatsoever to do with Hitlers views and opinions, and doing the same name change and put out an album which glorifies fascism and national-socialism and calls for the destruction of the Jews.
When people start complaining about the latter, i can understand. I still won't give a fuck, personally, but i can see why they'd be complaining.
But people start bitching about the first example already these days. Some people take on the smallest opportunity to play the victim or to be offended by something that is very unworthy to be offended by. And i feel it's making a mockery of serious issues related to the subject (which the people are so touchy about).
Like, recently, we had a thread on the board about the photo in the yearbook about a black student which was the "Most Whipped". A harmless joke. But yet there are voices crying out saying it makes people remind of slavery and racism etc. You name it, they were offended over it.
And then I think, when you're offended by something so trivial, claiming murder and a restitution of morals, that person is being more rude for turning a serious issue into a worthless bickering.

I don't really think that we should "get over it". We should rather accept it. I know that chosing a name as "Hitler" doesn't really mean that someone really believes in his ideas, but at some point, the moral values of a sane human being should intervene. Do you understand what I mean?
