My first post. And a couple of questions bout Tupac.

#1
Hey guys, this is my first post!
I' ve been a reader of this forum for a long time now, but only registered recently, because i realised that this is one of the best places, if not the best, where i can get some accurate information to tupac stuff that are quite difficult to find elsewhere.
I ve a couple of questions i' d like to start with.

In Words of Wisdom at the second verse, near the end it says according to the 2pacboard:

You swear to the mother that you're living in equality
Forgetting your brother that's living in apolity

Now, i have searched the word apolity everywhere, including dictionaries and internet's dictionaries but came up with nothing.I found polity, but not apolity.According to the dictionaries this word doesn't exist.I ve heard those 2 lines over and over, but i couldn't make it out.Could anyone clear this out?

Also, in the song Me Against The World the second verse circulates in many versions. The two closest to the truth r - i think-.
First one - according to 2pacboard-.

With all this extra stressin'
The question I wonder is after death after my last breath
When will I finally get to rest from this oppression?
They punish the people that's askin questions
And those that possess
Steal from the ones without possessions
The message I stress
To make it stop study your lessons
Don't settle for less
Even the genius asks questions, be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change
Keep your essence
The power's in the people and politics we address
Always do your best
Don't let this pressure make ya panic and when ya get stranded
And things don't go the way ya planned it
Dreaming of riches
In a position of makin' a difference
Politicians are hypocrites
They don't wanna listen
If I'm insane
It's the fame made a brother change
It wasn't nothin' like the game
It's just me against the world

Second one:

With all this extra stressin
The question I wonder is after death, after my last breath
When will I finaly get to rest? Through this supression
they punish the people that's askin questions
And those that possess, steal from the ones without possesions
The message I stress: to make it stop study your lessons
Don't settle for less - even the genius asks-es questions
Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence
The power is in the people and politics we address
Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference
Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen
If I'm insane, it's the fame made a brother change
It wasn't nuttin like the game
It's just me against the world

Which one is the right one?I think i hear the word suppresion, but i'd like to be certain.
Is it politicians and hypocrites, or politicians are hypocrites? If you surf the net you will find out that half the lyrics will b saying politicians and hypocrites and the other half politicians are hypocrites.
English is not my native language, so forgive me if this seems elementary to many of u but after the part where he says ''and politics we address'' , those lines:

Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference

Who is he talking to?The politicians, or the people?Cause they do sound to me a little bit out of context if he is addressing the politicians about dreaming riches.I'm missing something there.

Finally, in previous pages it has been mentioned an interview of Tupac on a boat, during the all eyez on me photoshoot. At youtube you can find this but i was wondering if anyone has the text. There is part where Pac says : ''Love? There is no love for thug.I was married i ain't married no more. And ..... ...... .There is no love for a thug, and there is no heaven for a thug.''I can't make out that part after him saying he is not married amymore.

Some of you may get a bit frustrated thinking that those r details, but i think it's important to know for a fact and not speculate, what the man wrote and what he wanted to say.

Thanks a lot to all of you.
Cheers.

you'll find that transcribed lyrics are seldom correct. it's best to use your own brain and ears on this one.

It's not "living in apolity" it's "living her apology"

The first passage is correct from "Me Against the World"

He's talking to the people, not the politicians

I hope that helped

First and foremost thanks to everybody that took the time to answer to my post.I'd like to something to each one of you.

Bank Robber unfortunately you can't trust any place on the net be consistenly accurate. Not even the 2pacboard.I don't think member do correct the lyrics.Do a little search you 'll find out many mistakes.

Tupac-Soulja that's exactly how i thought the lyrics of matw were, until i discovered on net the second version of lyrics.I ve heard it over and over again, and played it using powerdvd at half the speed and i now think that EDouble is right. If you listen carefully you will hear ''...rest through'' and not '' ...rest from''.The part which is impossible for me to distinguish is the ''politicians and/are hypocrites''.

PurelyPac your suggestion is the most circulated on the internet. But mind you most of the net's lyrics are copy-paste and eventually errors spread .Think about it.

''You swear to the mother that you're living in equality
Forgetting your brother that's living her apology''

What does that mean?Does it make any sense? In fact 2pacboard's verse in much closer in the context one would expect. We would expect to hear a contradiction.Something like that:

You swear to the mother that you're living in equality
Forgetting your brother that's is not living in equality/who is living on welfare/who has to hustle/who is upon discriminated

You also said that he is talking to the people. But look at this.

With all this extra stressin
The question I wonder is after death, after my last breath
When will I finaly get to rest? Through this supression
they punish the people that's askin questions
And those that possess, steal from the ones without possesions
The message I stress: to make it stop study your lessons
Don't settle for less - even the genius asks-es questions
Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence
The power is in the people and politics we address

Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference

Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen
If I'm insane, it's the fame made a brother change
It wasn't nuttin like the game
It's just me against the world

He says and politics we address, then there are four lines and after that he says politicians are hypocrites, they don't want to listen. It's like he opens a parenthesis.I actually think that he might be talking to the politicians. This is my interpretation:

Tupac to the politicians( advises)

Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it(even then do your best)
(but you are)Dreamin of riches, (while you are )in a position of makin a difference

Tupac to the people :

Politicians are hypocrites they don't wanna listen( i 've just talked to them but they are dreaming of riches and they don't hear me)

Even though you didn't convince me, you did help PurelyPac.Every opinion helps.

Last but not least Dante.I ve realised that a long time ago...The problem is that my brains amd ears can only do so much.Rap i think must b the most difficult music genre for having correct lyrics because of the speed of the delivery of speech among other things. As i ve already told you english is not my native language and evidently i can't have the perception of a person that lives in the U.S and speaks and hears english 24/7 for years. That's why i ve asked for some help.I ve noticed that you r one of the standout members of the board and that you deliver accurate informations.I know that there r 2Pac manuscripts, in fact i ve got myself a few, and some of them are lyrics.Do you have/is it possible to find the manuscripts for the above songs so that we know for sure the correct lyrics.By the way many artists have official lyrics...and at the Until The End Time single they include the official lyrics for several songs, such as My Unborn Child.I mean, his story, it should b his words! Can we have something solid? If not, at least tell us what u hear!

Finally about the boat onterview which no one mentionned.I have placed it's link below

Can anyone tell what he says :
''Love? There is no love for thug.I was married i ain't married no more. And ..... ...... .There is no love for a thug, and there is no heaven for a thug.''I can't make out that part after him saying he is not married amymore.

P.S : Some has made the follwing video of tupac. If fact he created everything, both the mp3 and the video in one night - at least he says so-.Anyway, i thought it might interest some of you that don't know this.Great job for an amateur imo! Here's the video:

He says;

''Love? There is no love for thug.
I was married i ain't married no more,
That just goes to show u,
There is no heaven 4 a thug,
And there is no love 4 a thug,
That's just how it is"

It makes sense for him to be actually saying: "...Living in poverty."
Yeah. Duh. It honestly makes me laugh when people don't get his lines.

My favorite was when someone quoted their "favorite Tupac line" and it wasn't even correct.

"2Pac got it locked like a canibus"

The only difficult line I have ever had deciphering was "Pop at me, brand me, shoot." or "Poppa need brand new shoes"
Both would seem to work I think.
