I acutally was a reserve Officer till July 19th I was in a car accident got banged up pretty good. Right now I handle desk and phone I was ready to apply for full time positions and started the hiring process with two other departments doing ride alongs and getting the paper work started. That all stopped but now I am almost 100% .

Thanks, that's a common misconception of shooting in the arm or legs, hitting someone in the arm or leg is very hard to do, under stress and everything. Even shooting at the head under stress is not an easy task. You shoot at "center mass" aka the body, or if all you see of a person is their knee cap you shoot center mass of that.

Edit: When an Officer is threatened with force they have to match it with the same level of force, and can escalate if needed. Say someone pulls out a knife at an Officer, that knife will kill you just as dead as a gun will. So the Officer is justified in pulling out his or her gun to protect themself and others.

They could try to use a taser, but to use a taser you have to be close within 18 feet which is very close if you miss because someone can be on you stabbing you in less than two seconds.

Nothing wrong with shooting, long as it is done safely. Get the proper training and don't be afraid to learn. I always suggest a basic gun saftey class, and usually for 50 dollars or less you can learn in a 4 hour class then shoot 50 rounds. The instructor will help you and make sure above all else you are shooting safely and you will enjoy it.

So because everyone potentially has a gun of course all police carry guns. But what if you never had that right ro possess in the first place. how many lives would have been saved. Glock 23, is chambered in .40S&W, and is a compact gun, smaller sized gun. Glock 23, looks like 3rd gen.
