Long time, no see. You know my situation if you know about me.
So I'll drop somethin' I wrote for me since I'll be turnin' 18 on January 11. Tell me how u like it...

I'm scared...real scared, and I ain't sure if I'm ready.
After growin' up in this world, tell me how I will maintain steady
I'm serious, leavin' mama's nest was the thought that I'd dodge
So many things I gotta take on, all I got is Father God
But still...my last days. No more waking up to my family
Now I'm in the system and I know it'll try to damage me
My fantasy of freedom, believe, are still at hand
Makin' decisions draw my portrait of a growing man
I can't explain my anxiety, but optimistic emotions
My dreams of happiness on hold, but freedom will be coastin'
And now I have to sort out details I never fully understood
Just can't fuckin' believe these are the last dayz of my childhood

Dedicated 2 dat runnin' black soul...
Don't stress...Stand strong, brotha...

Damn... My last dayz

I like the realness of this poem and how you weren't afraid to express your feelings to the fullest. Turning 18 IS a scary time but not as bad as you think. With it comes a lot of responsibilities but one I'm sure you'll realise you'll be able to handle just fine. I'm a lil late with this response, so I'm hoping you're managing to cope with it alright.
Nice piece...really liked the flow and vocab. Last couple of lines were my favourite.
Keep it up.

It was nice, quite short though - I felt like you had more to say and it shouldn't of ended when it did. Turning 18 is cool, but life does get harder in some ways, easier in others, just keep your head up and do your family proud oh and keep writing ;)

I can relate because even if you had a bad childhood, there's something about it where you are gonna miss it. For example, I miss being ignorant to a lot of things. Not that I would rather be, but sometimes I miss all those simple things that make us happy as children. Anyway, try to not be afraid, now that you're 18 it's time to be who you're gonna be if you know what I mean. Good poem,
~peace~
