New 2Pac Album this Xmas

#3
Good to hear. Hope Wideawake stays afloat to release the album. An Xmas release date sounds good. That means Pac will be competing with all the new major artists too.

Hopefully Amaru doesn't jump in at the last second and not approve of the list of songs they wanna release just like they did Reincarnation.

Shit i wish JJ's wife would hurry up and get permission from amaru to release the JJ and Pac album.
Word, a new Pac album with some JJ productions would be great. And while she at it, she should release Have mercy by Napo. I randomly thought about that album after years and googled it. It turns out that Klockwork is getting eady for some releases.
And remastering seems to be a good thing. I remember years ago word was going around that Amaru had remastered the first 4 albums. Still no release there, strange.

You can't remaster something that was never mastered. Mastering is part of the distribute and release process. It's not something that's normally done for every track recorded. What you're thinking about is what is referred to simply as "mastering". It's the process in which an audio engineer equalizes songs and put them in the order they are supposed to be, and basically make a bunch of individual recordings recorded at different times/studios using various equipment into sounding like a coherent album. Before this, panning and individual instrument volume is done by either the producer or a studio engineer. This process is referred to as "mixing".

But besides that, I think she basically meant there won't be any remixing or cutting down outros etc. A lot of people use the word "remaster" differently. On Pacboards it means to make something sound better, but in engineering terms it means taking a mastered recording and re-mastering it, most often using new technology that wasn't available at the time of the original recording. In this particular context I think she means nothing will be changed. It will be mastered to sound like a retail release though.

They were supposed to release Napo's album back in December but then the release day came and went and there was nothing. I honestly dont know wat is going on over there or if any of the projects they were planning on releasing are even gonna come out. I have a feeling they asked Amaru for permission to release the Pac/JJ album and got refused and then just said fuck it and gave up on even releasing anything else.

Yeah I know Napo doesn't want it released since he stopped music. But it's strange they announce it if they don't know if they even gonna get permission to release it. Reading the Klock work forum I understand they postponed it to february and then went silent. I tried the 'contact-option' on their site but that doestn't work. Btw, i saw oneonoe's name on their site, isn't he a (former) sh-member?

Pac was only with death row for nine months and 3 albums ... and wasn't AEOM two of them, and Makaveli the third? ... i doubt death row has much material left, probably not enough to release an album full of unheard songs, but if they plan on releasing some proper og's from the previous posthumous albums then that would be cool. i am sceptical that daylight will ever see another tupac album worth buying and listening too again but here's to hoping maybe...

There is still a shit load of material left. You are obviously not much into the 2pac scene but there's so much material left that they could easily release a few more albums. There's easily 2-3 more albums worth or "good" Death Row songs and thats just the Death Row era. There's still plenty of material from his pre-deathrow days. Shit the entire One Nation album alone has yet to be released.
