I am buying a new car but I haven't decided on which one yet so I need your help.

i am looking for a brnad new car around 25,000 give or take. That's my budget.

I do about 60, 000 km a year. i am currently looking at Diesel but I don't know which one would be the better choice. I see pros and cons all over the web but no definitive answer.

Does anyone have a good suggestion?

I need something good on gas, something very sturdy that can last me at least 300, 000 km without any problems and eventualy last me 600, 000 km.

I take care of my cars. Always get them oil change at the right time etc etc.

So let's see what you guys have to say.

Cars I have considered so far:

Honda CRV
Toyota Rav4
hyundai Genesis
Jetta TDI (diesel)

PS. Can i trust Ford to make a decent car now? One that lasts more than 200, 000 km. I have had a lot of problems with american cars. i am very skeptical of their quality.

Mazda 3 (quality vs price is top notch)
Rabbit 2.5
Corolla Sport (great look since 2006)

I never was a fan, but the new Hondas are great. The new Honda Civic is awesome looking. And the quality has always been there.

And Ford... Now? Really? I mean, were they ever reliable.

Fuck American cars. My friend's Ford Taurus' engine just fell down. Yes. The damn thing fell out of the car.

No wonder they're all going bankrupt.

Years back I too had a Ford Taurus who's engine nearly fell out of the car. It was a design flaw where they failed to rustproof the 2 large bolts holding the front of the engine compartment up. Doh! The fix cost $250 and they payed for it. I got the recall notice about it after it happened, of course.

Out of your choice, Rav4 is probably best. Do not get diesel. Pollution.

The average person does about 20 000KM/Year give or take. Now, I don't know what the fuck you're doing with your car, but you won't find one that will last you till 600 000KM... After 150 000KM, repairs will need to be made, especially if you drive it as much as you say you do.

That being said, the Hyundai Genesis' are freaking amazing.

lol i commute to work. Long drive.

Anyway, the genesis looks nice but it's a bit out of my price range because I know I will run it to the ground pretty quick so there is no point in spending that much.

i am more and more leaning towards honda Civic.

So you guys think diesel would not be the right choice for so much driving?

Diesel, not in North America I'd say

Civics are good, but they're also the car that are the most stolen in Canada. I'm not sure where you live in Canada, and the area you live in, but keep that in mind. Also, everyone's got one. lol

The new Mazda3 is a great car and it's also in your price range. Base price for the GX is about 15000-17000. It's a nice ride I hear.

PS: Long commute for work? Are you a cocaine runner?
