Truth be told I haven't heavily listened to Pac in a while. But I've been listening a lot this week and its occured to me, Pac flows off and then back on and off the beat a hell of a lot.

Always sounds good, but sometimes its like he just doesn't pay attention to 1,2,3,4 bar structure so he's technically off beat because he doesn't hit the 4, or the 2 for that matter.

its probably because through his emotions he always stretchin some words like heneeseeeyyy, remember meeee, and my enemieeess, but to me theres only 1 retail which is definitly. off "everthing they owe" its a horrible production

i think pac was like ; the beat is secondary listen to my lyrics and how i deliever it

Most of his stuff is off beat. Pac rides the beat different than most rappers. He's on tempo, just doesn't hit the 2 or 3.

Staring at the world thru my rearview was on my random lost of mp3s a couple mins ago, and its off.... Count the beat out for yourself.

It sounds good, its on tempo, but he just rides it differently.

Yeah you're right. That's why quite a few of his acapellas are difficult to mix. Some tracks he's just all over the place but in the end I don't really mind. The imperfection is perfect haha.

Do you think he does it on purpose? I think at times his emotion and emphasis and tempo make it very hard to stay on the beat. But he was always very calculated so maybe it's for effect.

Real mc's dont limit theirselfs to a simple 1, 2, 3, 4, count or a bar in a beat, a real mc flows on purpose how HE wants to flow.

So, there's no offbeat. Only if u cant flow cause you suck.
