Pac's album did considerably well considering there was no real single, music video, or any promotion whatsoever.

800k does sound a lot. i can't believe it'd go platinum that fast. he's not that good. besides, i heard the new jigga album was pretty wack compared to, say, the black album.

well yeah, but i guess arguably, this the black album was a lot better than this in terms of mainstream appeal as well as musical talent.

as for taste, that's a different matter. i like very few jay-z songs, but i do like some.

I disagree. As far as the more popular rappers he competes with (like Nas), he's not as good but far more consistent. When going at 100% effort, Nas will rap circles around Jigga, but it's easier for Jay to put together a solid album. None of his albums have really sucked, whereas Nas has put out a few half-assed albums, Nastradamus being at the top of the list.

nas found out jigga fucked his baby mamma when he was recording nastradamus, thats y its not as good as his other albums. still good tho.

well as we all know it ended up being 10th on the charts which is Pac's worst first week since Thug Life some 12 years ago lol


closest to it was still i rise which came 7th...but sold like 400k first week
