I will not be parting with my cash for this project. Its a fucking shame and I have thought about it alot. I have bought the whole Pac catalogue over the years, but no I will not buy this. As I type Whatz Next has just come on... and I feel like I am making the right decision. If the album flopped maybe Amaru would change their approach to the next one. With lots of top grade material left I dont want them to fuck that up too.

If for no other reason, EVERYONE should be buying this album because of Soon As I Get Home being kept OG. I hope it gets some radio play too, maybe it will get Amaru motivated to keep future releases more OG.

if any of the songs on pacs life gets radio play, it wont be soon as i get home... dont get me wrong, its a dope track, but i doubt it will get airplay... without any real hype, promotion, no video, not many people will request any pac...

the crazy thing is that there's so many pac heads and so many of his songs out there but the only songs i hear on the radio are usually how do u want it, california love, 2 of amerikaz most wanted, and changes... and of course the rare instance where a DJ mixes in a pac accapela into another artists modern day beat...

the only time i hear other pac tracks is whenever i'm down in cali...

I used to be as optimistic as you lot, but this album has really just kicked me in the balls.

First off, yes it is better than LTTG, only just. If that satisfies you than suck a dick. I want more to be done with this legends work. It is ten years since 2pac died, and yet their is lots more material left by him. We know some of it is amazing lyrically (Grab The Mic for one) and i dont want to see it drip fed to us the way it has been since Better Dayz over the next ten years.

I fucking hate when people say, 'another 2pac album! Just let him rest in peace for fucks sake!' Because a) they have no idea what they are talking about and b) the material left behind is better than 99% of anything being released in hip hop today. But it has got to the point where, each release is eroding away at his legacy. Be it quality of music or dis-illusioning his hardcore fans. It has got to stop.

I will not be buying this album, I wont even be listening to it. Instead I'll put on Me Against The World, that is how a Pac album should be and most probably still could be.

Yes, some of it is amazing, and some of it is not. Some of it is just fair.. Technically speaking, most of what Pac dropped was good if not excellent. But when it comes to depth, not all of the left behind material is that much, especially after the previous releases of RUSD, SIR, UTEOT, BD, and LTTG.

Well, homie, dont blame the beats.. I mean of "Pac's Life", tell me one deep song dealing with life/death/legacy like "If I Die 2Nite"?!! Show me one deep and/or emotional song like "So Many Tears" or "Dear Mama"... Arguably the "Whatz Next" verse could've been mixed on a different beat, but even that wouldn't be remotely close to MATW's depth!!! I think u got my point, no need to go on comparing... Pac's Life is a more of an upbeat album with more of a life celebration than deep contemplations approach, and this has nothing to do with the production/beats, but rather with the lyrics.

Okay fine I get your point, well except the last paragraph, because who picked these songs for the album? This is what I am talking about as well. Song selection and sound production could have led to the best Posthumous album yet. Yes granted, hoping for another Me Against The World is a bit ambitious but a classic would still be possible... easily. Let me go through it in more detail;

Now excluding the tracks jsut used on Pac's life lets see what we have left.

First To Bomb - this track is exactly the type which needs the right beat behind it. If done properly it could be a classic.

Grab The Mic - I have deliberately kept myself from listening to this much, because the lyrics are so potent now and im saving it for when its done in CDQ. Potentially another classic.

Street Life - We all know about this. Polish up the beat. Classic.

Move For Money - album filler, more than one pac verse tho.

Komradz - One of them, we heard so many remixes of this it would have to be better than them all hands down to impress.

Tongue Kissin - One for the ladies. Give it back to Jon B an see what he could do with it now.

Thats just what we know of, then there is songs such as the one Dante mentioned he purchased, and described it as some of the deepest lyrics he's heard from Pac. We got Watch Ya Mouf,a 7 Day Theory cut. Dre track from All Eyez On Me. Not to mention Till My Dyin Day, Hard 2 Kill these are just off the dome.

Theres 10 tracks, representing the multi side of Pacs persona.

Hate it or love it (tho i dont think anybody loves it) we have our own opinions on Pac's Life. However I think we all agree that it could be better, alot better.

I've had the album for the weekend now. Didn't download it, so never heard it until it arrived.

There are quite a few positives I can take from this album and I will be putting a review up on StreetHop by the end of the week.

As for the Bonus Track - It is just the Anthony Hamilton remox of Dear Mama. It's an amazing remix, possibly even better than the original. But it has been around for a few years... So nothing new. Wasn't it on a Vlad mixtape?
