I don't know how to put this. It's a classic watch. It was designed in 1947. It was the first wrist watch to be displayed at the Museum of Modern Art. (http://www.moma.org/collection/browse_results.php?object_id=3323). It became a permanent fixture at MOMA before MICHAEL KORS WAS BORN. Therefore it can't be a gimmick. Now as far as its feminine look, that's just too subjective. I believe simplicity and minimalism aren't feminine. But yeah. Not a gimmick.
