^Yeah, Obama will take a train ride to Poland from Washington, DC. lol
I never said that he should go take a damn boat trip across the Atlantic to do so, but I think PRs should have advised him to do something else instead of golfing, which isn't the greatest activity to do when you were scheduled to attend a funeral.

You cock-eyed Cetnik. :p

Probably not, but politics is all about how you present yourself. While other politicians are taking long car and train rides which shows effort, Obama plays golf. It just doesn't look right. Obviously, it's a news report so you don't know how much is true or whatever, but like it or not, it doesn't make him look good.
Thats the issue. Why doenst it make him look good? And why does it matter?

People are so small minded to be reporting such crap. That should be the issue they discuss.

^^ It's stupid to make a big deal out of it, I agree, but it is what it is, and some people eat this shit up and base their opinions on it, especially in the States.

that article is just so pro Bush lol. its ridiculous. look at this bullshit:

He said in 2008 that he gave up golf "in solidarity" with the families of soldiers who were dying in Iraq.

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf," Mr. Bush said in a White House interview Saturday with the Politico. "I feel I owe it to the families to be as — to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."

He stopped playing after he received word of a deadly attack in Iraq while playing golf during a stay at the family ranch near Crawford, Texas.

"They pulled me off the golf course, and I said it's just not worth it anymore to do," Mr. Bush said in the interview.
what a great man. shame it was you that sent all those troops over there to die.

If it's true then it is a "big" deal because a few hours earlier he said that he will definitely be there, how important it is for him and for America blablabla and then minutes before planned travel he decided not to go and play golf instead. Come on.

Various politicians from all around the world decided to fly at low attitude in military planes to be here and he's one of like 17 or so who declined. And that's after years of feeding Polish people how important we are to America, that we're one of their biggest strategic partner, friends etc. etc.

But again it's politics. He should be signing a condolence book by that time. It's a big deal here where national mourning is a very important thing for most people. Most older people are mourning, crying and whatever and while I find it stupid he knows that they do.
Personally I think it just means that Obama doesn't give a shit too much but it doesn't offend me in any way. It's just that many people will feel offended and he should know this. I think it was a pretty silly thing to do after all and I'm very liberal if it comes to politics. I don't care about it that much. But not even a condolence book or a visit in Polish embassy? That's not nice.

England and France said the same in the 1939, then they let Germany take over Poland. lol... The West is good at sweet talking Poland, then again the East (Soviets back when lol) are good at starving them. So go figure ... :(

I didn't know that he actually claimed to be there a few hours earlier though. I thought it was more once the volcanic eruptions took place a few days ago, it was decided he wouldn't show... Either way, you do make a very valid point. It doesn't look good any way you cut it. I personally wouldn't feel offended (probably cause I hate the politicians in Power in Cro at the moment lol) ... but like I said, it looks like he's indifferent. I'm sure there's more to the story though.
