Prescription Drugs

Cocaine is not on the same level as heroin. I'd never advise anyone to ride the pony, obviously, but it's not really that crazy. I think smoking crack is crazy because it packs a much harder punch and it's a fast path to addiction. Sniffing coke is not particularly addicting. It's addicting for people with addicting personalities. It's the people who chase a thrill, need adrenaline, shit like that. You know the people. If you feel like you have the willpower and are doing it for the right reasons (not for "my life sucks, let's kill an 8ball in 5 minutes") but you're just trying to have a good time. Prescription drugs are much easier to abuse and fall dependent on 'cause they fuck with your pain receptors like heroin. But I mean, in the end, with most drugs, you will never fully stop using it ever because since you're not addicted, don't see a change in your health, doesn't hit your pocket, doesn't mess with your social life, your family, there's no real reason to stop. That's the downside of drugs.

Agree with what Sofi says.

I have 3 friends who have been heroin users for over 10 years. 2 of them have very good jobs, and loads of money. Unless they are clucking you wouldn't be able to tell, as they look very healthy. Although they don't inject, so that must help. At the moment I know that one of them is spending £700 a week on his habit. They both want to get off, and one is off at the moment. But that is because he has an implant that stops heroin having any affect for 3 months. He also takes cocaine or crack when he can't do the heroin. He has what you might call a very addictive personality.

When I was 17, most of my friends took crack and heroin. Heroin was the best way to deal with the shitty comedown you get from Crack. Now most of us have grown up and moved on. However 2 have unfortunately got physical, and mental addictions to heroin. It's the mental addiction that's hard to break. Even when their bodies are "clean" they go back again.

Ever see the movie Gia?

I think she started off with prescription pills. Sleeping ones I think. Long story short she got into Heroin and stuff. I know too many people that had good things going for them and resorted to drug use and fucked their life over.

Pittsey, it seems to me that you having not used them make you believe you are not a drug addict. I used to have that mentality with my drinking. I said, I had it under control and so forth, then I slowly realized I started to look for occasions to drink, even if i didn't do it often.

Once you start looking for shit, it's got you and right now is the best time to let it go, if you ask me. I only drink on occasion and when there is another occasion in the future that I know will be drinking involved, I try to drink at the most appropriate one.

Anyway,

CA you can get drugs anywhere. You can pretty much just go down the street and anyone with baggy jeans can appoint you to a near-by drug seller. Sad Really. lol

Haven't not used what? I have taken prescription drugs and illegal drugs many a time. I have never had a physical or mental addicition to them. That's why I don't think I am addicted. Who wants to waste all that money on something you don't enjoy any longer. I prefer my body not to build up a tolerance so that the drugs feel as good as the first time when I take them. I haven't taken any drugs since Feb 2010. And those were valiums.

If you don't drink or take drugs you're a boring cunt and all your stories suck. All your stories end with "and then I got home".
No one gives a shit that you got promoted at work and no one gives a fuck that your kids don't have bruises

i thought you said Feb 2011. My bad. I took it as maybe you were skipping a few weeks so u could say it wasn't an addiction when it lowkey was.

Although I agree, I don't think you NEED that to have fun. otherwise you're also a boring person.

Isnt it funny when brainless monkeys try to justify their moronic behaviour?!
Know what is even more funny? When you haven't take any drugs or alcohol, and still have no education, a shitty income, and are still living with your parents at 25+

Oh hey sebastian. How goes it?

SOFI those last three lines are close to being the most accurate description of recreational drug use I've ever read.

Seb, if you haven't noticed by now I don't take anything on these boards seriously. I don't post in Words Of Wisdom or any of the Religion, Meat or other serious topics simply because I don't give a fuck. Now if that makes me a moron so be it, but does it mean I'm not going to have a successful, fulfilling life?! No, so lick mi eggs

I don't think any less of you for not drinking or taking drugs, so don't go thinking you are all high and mighty looking down on others because they have different perceptions of having 'fun'. Each to their own

Starting to understand why Sebby was reluctant to come back to the board. Stred, you funny. But come on Funk! That's fucked up.

Get your facts right when you make such a comment. Maybe the drugs have taken its toll but c'mon, at least try harder the next time.

Yeah, maybe you should. Not here on the board, but generally.

I don't think you can call someone out because they haven't done drugs or don't drink. It doesn't necessarily make them boring. I prefer to have a drink when I go out, but I only drink about once or twice a month these days.

But... I don't think you can talk intelligently about drugs and alcohol if you haven't experienced them either. We can all talk clichés and regurgitate what the media and television have shown us. But you don't really have any life experience to draw back on.

Someone who works with drug addicts on a daily basis - because its his job - and hasnt done any drugs in his life, dont you think this person is knowledgable enough to have a proper conversation about the topic?

NO because there is nothing you've learned that I cant get from a book or talking to the bum on the corner.

Once you KNOW the feeling and have experienced it for yourself then you have some value to add

Value as in personal experience. I know that addicts also respond more to people who talk from experience rather than feel like they are being judged by someone who has a diploma and thinks they know everything

Many, many people in the chemical dependency field have personal experience with addiction. But it's not a prerequisite. You're still a human being with insight and intelligence, even if you never touched a drug in your life.
