Remembering

Old memories float to the surface of my mind,

drinking in the feeling that washes over me,

your skin, your eyes, your touch, your heart,

desperatly grabbing at every thought,

knowing the memories are all I have left,

new memories will never form,

only shadows follow me through dark times,

but it once was you,

in the mirror is your reflection,

and when I close my eyes I can feel your arms protecting me,

but my eyes open again,

the beautiful reflection is revelved as nothing more then an illusion,

your arms are only in my imagination,

and your protection has vanished forever.

Wow, that was kool. Kool prolly ain't the word that best describes this but it was the first thing that came to mind. I liked the whole thing. It's well written :thumb:

Good to see you back :D

I can agree with the rest of the posts. I at one point I felt like that. And I could have said those exact words 2 a girl. You know what that is? That, my poetic friend, is called the type of talent where you can relate to people without know them. I wanna see what else you can do.....peace

this was tight...loved the ending!
and when I close my eyes I can feel your arms protecting me,

but my eyes open again,

the beautiful reflection is revelved as nothing more then an illusion,

your arms are only in my imagination,

and your protection has vanished forever.

I think almost everyone can relate to this one. I get that feeling about people and it's like, "weren't you just here a second ago?" But I think it's a good reminder to us about how life is a process, always changing and always moving.
