Remixing, Masters and the 5 W's + How

When did Amaru or Death Row come with the idea to remix and change Pac's music? What happened after RUSD with the remixing? Whose music in history has ever been remixed and watered down other than 2pac's and a little bit of Big? Where are the masters for Pacs songs? Why is it settling into my brain that I have to deal with remixes of my favorite poet? How is it it possible to save Pac and how do Amaru come up with ideas of which songs to mix?

Amaru started remixing in 1997. It's how badly the remixing has become that has changed through the years. Death Row started changing the music in 1998 by replacing Snoop with Top Dogg on All About U. I could care less about that one though, seeing how we had the original version in retail form anyway.

Afeni started overseeing the music less and less while giving more and more power to E.D.I. and Kastro.

Nobody. I don't even really count Biggie's posthumous stuff as really being remixed (at least not to the degree of Pac's music), since most of Born Again consisted of studio scraps (as opposed to completed songs like Pac's) or random verses and most of Duets consisted of remixed retail tracks.

Presumably in Amaru's possession. However, there are still masters not in their possession, which is why people like Dante can still access unleaked songs that not even Amaru has. Supposedly Suge still has a few, Boot Camp has some of the stuff from what would've been the second disc of the One Nation compilation and a lot of the masters weren't well-accounted for in terms of its proper labeling and its whereabouts.

That's the norm, and unfortunately it won't change.

Obviously making message forum threads and online petitions don't work. Someone has to whisper into Afeni's ears, and that person better be somebody with some pull and some way for them to either get more money or spend less of it, which is why Eminem was able to gain control of Loyal to the Game. You'd seriously need to off E.D.I. and Kastro along with a few other idiots at Amaru Records.

If you recall, there were some reports of 50 Cent showing interest in executive producing the album. And I bet right about now, all of you are wishing he did because it probably would've been better and get decent beats worthy of club play (for songs where club beats are applicable).

They just fail miserably at doing so. 50 makes club bangers, but Amaru hires washed-up people to do the job. Swizz Beatz, of all people. I seriously would've picked Lil Jon over Swizz. At least Lil Jon is somewhat in style and makes shit worth dancing to. How about Scott Storch? It's not like they can't get at him, he did Po Nigga Blues. Producers aside, they get some weird guest appearances. Krayzie Bone is cool, but there are some other people on there that just didn't make sense. While anybody is pretty much better than the Outlawz, I wasn't too happy.

Yes I do now. Whats happened to the days of remixes like Do 4 Love? UTEOT? etc..

From where Im standing it looks like when Death Row lost any input on 2pac projects is when things went to shit. The transitional phase which hid this was 2pac Resurrection. We got a boss DVD an some decnet remixes from Eminem. Then LTTG.

It appears to me also that Amaru have turned into tight bastards with the money. Eminem produced LTTG for free! The producers on Pac's Life would not have cost much, shit they need the work! No more tracks with samplings of old songs were royalties would have to be paid. A Pac album needs somebody producing it with a passion, a desire for a suitable final product and money to back it all up.

I can still see it....that interview wit Pac N' Marlon Wayans for Above The Rim....where their wondering where Marlon Wayan's character, "Boogaloo," got his name......

Now I can imagine some old white faggot cruising thru BET N' MTV......oh well, we'll get G UNIT.......Eminem is GANGSTER.....just look at 8 Mile......he was friends wit that doctor guy from ER!!!!!
that's how LTTG n' Pac's Life came about.......TURN OFF THE FUCKING MTV, BET, AND RADIO AND QUIT FUCCIN' WIT THE MAN'S SHIT!!!!

This is what I mean when i say about Pac fans bein too whiney and complainin about EVERYTHING.

If 50 Cent had of actually produced the album everyone woulda been bitching like fuck, and your sayin now you woulda preffered it, but i bet my life if he had of produced it you would of been bitchin about it.

basically, the trend on this board is, bitch about ANYTHING Amaru does, complain moan and whine as much as possible.

is the truth bitchin ???? dont think so

why isnt RUSD SIR UTEOT and BD like LTTG and pacs life ??? if this would be the case, nobody today would be surprised...

rusd, sir, uteot were classic albums luv the simple beats where the lyrics outshines the beat, if u put any of these 3 albums in the recorder its like pac was still alive when they came out

BD was very nice but this was the first clubish kinda album...i dont wonder why LTTG was the next step

Say what you want, but if you go back and check my posts (which I know you won't do) I was actually advocating that 50 Cent executive produce it. So you might want to take back your words about me.
