Secret Garden

[I was looking through the book "Dear Tupac," and there was a section with condolence letters that fans had sent in after he passed, and it was really touching, all the different people who he had an impact on. I put down the book and this poem came to me, so I wrote it for them. I know it's pretty long but bear with me.]

Secret Garden

If there's a soul inside of us,
I know it must leave here in peace
To travel towards the stars, so far,
A beautiful sight to see

Outside of all our clouds and skies,
Out past our atmosphere
Beyond this solar circle system,
Somewhere no where close to here

Beyond the span of galaxies,
Into that eternal night
Past all that we can comprehend,
Where the darkness becomes bright

The brightness covers everything,
And seeps and fills our hearts
Love and pain hold hands and sing,
And wipe away our scars

Now in this place a person waits,
To tell you something great
You see on him a distant face,
An image you can't place

And around you now a landscape forms,
Blue seas and hills so green
The sky is night, the land is day,
Beauty exactly as it seems

And now the person walks to you,
He hugs you and you cry
It hits you, where you know him from,
As you're looking in his eyes

During life, he told you of the pain he felt:
Why, for him, it is so hard
How pain is really bred from love,
And the fear in being a star

So now you say a million things to him,
But yet, you say no words
He knows what's deep inside your soul,
And the things you said, he heard

So now you wonder where you are,
What is this mystic scene?
He tells you, "It's reality,
And life is but a dream."

So now he takes your hand and walks,
You walk for days and days
Along the trail, your life is explained,
All the people, every place

The reason why you had to suffer,
Why you said goodbye right then
How it is that time does not exist,
And the meaning of your friends

At last there is a lake ahead,
Where now you must let go
"But wait, I'm gonna miss you friend,
I can't make it on my own!"

"Fear not," he says smiling,
"I will not be far away.
Beyond the lake a garden grows,
And there, you'll find my fate."

You tell him, "Know I love you, thanks,
For seeing me through so much
I never met you face to face,
But still, I felt your touch."

At that, he smiled, then flew away,
And turned into a light
It flew out past the starry sky,
Disappearing to that night

So now you see a boat to row,
You get in and you leave
Merrily rowing, you can't help but think,
That life was but a dream

And the people you loved were never lost,
They stayed inside your heart
And that is why it all made sense,
That nothing was apart

So now you see a shore ahead,
Beyond which, a wall of trees
A gate too, made of vines and leaves,
So green, so bright with peace

Getting up, you walk on water now,
And walk right to the ground
Opening the gate, you hear,
The most beautiful of sounds

And the sight, oh, what a sight to see,
Incapable of words to say
"Just think," you think, "imagine if,
The living saw this place.

"Maybe everyone would stop and smile,
And realize we are one
The connection that we all call love,
Had long ago begun."

In front of you a rose has grown,
With love that's giving off such grace
And now you see it is your friend,
He told you that was fate

So now this place is where you stay,
Beyond the death of time and space
Beyond confusion, pain and hate,
So close, but far away

Maybe a garden waits for all of us,
Our angels meet us in a hug
So in life we must remember, they
Can touch is with that love

Because in life, we grow from young to old,
Find strength and then get weak
But the garden keeps us as we are,
Some kind of never-ending peace

So you will live in love and pain,
Through all you come to be
And when you die, you'll come to see,
The secret that they keep

For right now, you are living chained,
But one day you'll be free
There's a secret that they keep from you,
A secret kept from me

Sometimes, I am not sure, but still,
I try and hope that it will be
Because I want so badly to believe,
A garden waits for me

Yes, I want so badly to believe,
A secret garden waits for me.

Good poem.

the good thing about this poew is that it is reflective and as well as very emotional such words as

Now in this place a person waits,
To tell you something great
You see on him a distant face,
An image you can't place

really set the tone as somber but yet reflective as you wait. It was long which makes it hard when there is no real pause (instead of 3 verses one long one) but the reader can get through this problem by just closing their eyes after reading this and just envisoning the mental picture you are painting'.

^^I agree with GhettoStar.

I thimk this piece was so emotional because of the way you used your words "as if you were painting a picture". But a real good poem here. I'd rep you but I can't anymore.

Peace
