I don't get the ''can't'',because Tupac believed in god.
Yeah, of course he believed in God, he even says, "heavenly Father" in the same song.

But, to me, this is along the lines of him saying, "And even God turns his back on the Ghetto youth.."

He believes in God, but he says that sometimes God doesn't do what you want him to do.

If you listen towards the end of the tune, you hear him more clearly sayin' "Can't" -

Check the tune between 3:55 - 4:00 for a good example -

Peace .!

Iv'e always thought he said CAN'T,
speaking of sites getting lyrics wrong, look up "high speed", im amazed at how bad every site fucked them lyrics up, ive submited the correct lyrics to them time and time again but it does no good, look at this,

I live life High Speed
Slightly disillusioned by weed
I breed thug muthaf**kas even worse than me
When I bleed, my enemies best to flee quickly, on me
My army, ni**az decieve swiftly
Look at you now, why you wanna hang out?
I pull the hammer back
Strike wit' a cannon and blow your muthaf**kin' back out
They blast but I'm still standin'
Slightly scarred deep
Questions for the lord, why he don't like me, guard my soul
Though my life was hard with no remorse
I absorb bomb less provide protection for the boss
Rollin' in my double, raw, rugged, and ruthless
Keep a vest through these hard times, knowin' it's useless
And my crew, who could should be mistaken for Jews
We all about our past, blast if he break the rules
Fools done snitched for the D.A., be heavensent
Switched like a stone-bi**h, turned str8 severed then, why?
Then they wonder why ni**az die
Put your family in danger just to get high
Now, what the hell can we get from jail?
More tricks for the crime rate, this is hell
Bail out, a thug ni**a fresh out the jailhouse
Open your safe count and take all your mail out
Whatever happens happens
Whoever falls dies
We fresh out of time, livin blind, so we all ride
In times like these, chronic and tie weed
Puffin' through these High Speedz
And people say

I wish he didn't say "can't." I don't like playing this song in front of people who don't know much about him, since it sounds like he doesn't believe in God, but that's definitley not the case.

Well now, that's their problem not yours. If they don't get the meaning behind the song, ain't shit you can do about it.

True - (I see why u got the Tru Principle I.D now) - Its being real when he says Can't, thats all. Anyway its been said he's subliminally shouting out to biggie in this one, but then again he attacked them soo much its hard to tell where he is and where he is'nt going at 'em. I reckon he is though., I reckon what he's sayin' is Im beyond another level now, all them suckas left behind are gonna burn in hell. And God cant hear you in hell!! Maybe to some its a "crackhead" meaning, but to me this is what it means. The clever thing is the way he spits it so that it applies to everybody! This tunes got more knockout than Bruce Lee! (Thats got nothing to do with it, but just had to say it)

Peace ..!

I think it's directing at the crackhead, he's looking back in his rearview, meaning he's remembering the things he saw when he was young. He's telling the crackhead to scream to God but he can't hear her, because we live in a hopeless world where the majority of things isn't going to be peaches and cream. No-one's gonna save her unless she does it herself.

Pac's saying that staring through his rearview because his knowledge of the game has him on a different level of understanding. The outro makes this pretty clear.

The hook, in which he says can't (which is the only thing that makes sense), is simply saying that nothing can help Pac's enemy "cause it's time to die."

I don't really understand why confusion persists.

but he's not saying god can't help them,he's saying ''hear''....why would he say a line meaning that when he believes in god,and praying? If you can't see why there is confusion here then you are not understanding.
